Got it for Christmas, read well over 900 pages in less than 3 weeks.

Ken Follett is one of my faves. Has anyone else read this one?

As always, his historical fiction is a great way to make history relateable - and his female characters are uncommonly strong and triumphant...

A kind-of-historic one, right!? A story set in.. the 20th century? Round about the world war? blink.gif

Arnelle this has been on my book "radar" for a bit. It does interesting and quite epic. Thanks for you review--sounds interesting.

@Meroko-if you follow the link in amp's post, you'll get some background info. about the book. It does appear to start around the First World War time period.......
