Awesome film and Jeff Bridges was in a role he was meant to play and this film was not a remake of the original one with "The Duke" and an added bonus the last trailer was Rango!!! of course it brought a lot of laughs and it was brilliant marketing since it preceded a western. True Grit has humor, pathos, some surprises in my opinion a great family film and the actress protraying Mattie was great-I hope we see her in some more films. Let me know what you think. Anne r

Thanks for that info Anne--I wasn't a fan of the first True Grit so wasn't sure I wanted to see this one. Since you said it wasn't really a remake, that may help me change my mind. I know my DH wants to see this one, so it will probably one I'll see, too.

Donna the crowd was mixed but there were more men there; I think you will enjoy this I actually preferred it over The Kings Speech which was a great film. I am anxious to hear what you think and Black Sawn is next on my list; also Water for Elephants trailer was shown and it looks pretty good not sure about Robert Pattison but looks like a visually stunning film even down to the elephants. WFElephants trailer was shown with The Black Swan, too! I'm not sure about either of the lead actors(don't really see Witherspoon) in this one, but I guess we'll find out

Oh I am so jealous!!! I won't be able to see anything until next week. I understand that the new "True Grit" is a better adaptation of the original Portis book and that would sure make it a completely different film.
