Perec swipes the mob money that Special was carrying. That takes Special to Cannes hot on the trail of Perec, who is hot on the trail of Anne and Spandau.
What were you thoughts about this character and h ow he was woven into the main storyline?

I think that Special had a better developed character in the book than Spandau and I liked the character of Special. I thought he added some "spice" to the mix and he looks like he might be back if there is a third book. He reminds me of an "anti-hero" not what one would expect but honor comes forth when the character has to make a choice-kinda reminds me of CJS of the Pirates series. Anne r

Special was the kind of character that you couldn't help but like.
I like your thought of comparing him to CJS Anne! He was in it for himself yet circumstances led him in other directions where he had to do the right thing.
I thought DD did a great job with him! A pimp who loves opera and expensive wine! What a hoot! I can totally picture him!

Special DOES remind me of CJS!! He's just like him! Unpredictable, but always looking out for himself...but has a soft side too! I actually like this character better than Spandau and wish he'd do a spin off series! Good observation Anne!
