He seems to be such a charming man. Hearing his voice even added to his charm. He has a sweet and soft spoken voice. A voice you instantly trust. I am so grateful when we as readers get to see more of an author than just a picture. It even helps me when I am reading their book. , Sandra

He hails from the Pacific Northwest...we could have been neighbors I find his take on the different attitudes towards reading between the UK and the US interesting. Sadly, the US has an astonishing low literacy rate compared to many other countries (obviously that's not any of us here at this site!) But Kerala, India and Cuba can boast almost 100% literacy and they are quite poor there. I really like this website because it is focused on beautiful Johnny and his love of books which definitely encourages me to read more!

The US has one of the highest literacy rates, however, I think people in different countries may have different tastes in books, movies, etc. I think this book had a lukewarm reception in the US, but better in Europe and it could be mainly because of the "type" of story.
