. The auction begins on eBay on Dec. 4 and continues until Dec. 14, 2006. 100 percent of all proceeds go directly to the Children's Hospice Coalition.
"I'm not surprised that my friends in the entertainment industry are so eager to help raise funds for Children's Hospice Coalition," said Ms. Gilbert. "They recognize the importance of the work that Children's Hospice does every day to ensure that children with life-threatening illnesses receive the care that they need. This auction is a great opportunity for fans to get connected with their favorite stars while providing much needed help to one of the country's most worthwhile causes."
Pop artist icon, Peter Max said, "I am so proud to be able to contribute to this important benevolent organization. The support services they provide are essential for these beautiful children and their families."
When a child has a serious illness, the entire family is in need of compassionate support. Children's Hospice focuses on the needs of the whole family -- parents, siblings, grandparents, and loved ones. They work with hospitals and community organizations to ensure that children have a voice in the medical system and that their unique needs are taken into account. Children's Hospice has several effective and innovative national programs including the Partnership for Children, providing community based, family- centered, compassionate care to children with serious illnesses; the Partnership for Parents, a bilingual online support network for parents of seriously ill children; and the Children's Hospice Memorial Bracelet campaign, ensuring that these precious children are never forgotten.
When actor Johnny Depp added his hand and footprints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre, he was wearing a Children's Hospice Memorial bracelet -- "today is a gift" which honors 11 year old Dustin. Depp said, "There is profound simplicity in Dustin's message, I am honored to be associated with brave little Dustin by wearing this bracelet."
OurStory.com, a leading web site for life story sharing and preservation, is donating their services and partnering with Kompolt Online Auction Agency to produce this charity fundraising event. Unfortunately, the need for hospice care for children is not going away, and support like this is crucial."
