Do you have a favorite area of the book or something that is a part of the book? Something that stood out...caught your eye? Something that made it special? How? Why?

That's a tough one--there was so much that caught my eye and that I liked. One aspect I really liked that stood out was Tim's drawings os ST and the one with ST & ML. I just really like his drawings so it was nice to see them included.

Another part that stood out was the double page spread of Johnny/Tim(p40 & 41) sitting reading the script with their expressions. After reading/seeing so many of their interviews together, I would have loved to have been a "fly on the wall" to see what they found so funny in the script.

What caught my eye the first look through upon getting the book were the pictures of the last scenes of the movie, where Sweeney is holding Lucy. I knew the story, so I know there is no happy ending coming.

I love details so the chapter on Making Music made the book extra special for me.

I have to agree that the double paged pictures, especially of them dancing in the pie shop, are magnificent! I love the close up pictures too, the razors, Pirelli's purse. I did read the 'making music' section a few times because I found it all so fascinating!

As far as something that really caught my eye, page 107 and 166. He really is a creature of the night and it reminded me of old horror movies.

When I turned to page 34 I gasped out loud - the full-page black and white profile shot. I can't place it to a specific scene in the movie, but I'm fairly certain that's Sweeney there and not Johnny (do you know what I mean?). What was he thinking at that moment?

The BTS information is fascinating. Thanks to page 89 I was able to really marvel yesterday when JT & the Beadle are walking down those steps - the only "real" things in that shot. It made me appreciate the process so much more.

And I was very grateful that we had a close-up shot of that ring so many of us had speculated about after the first trailer was released.

Yes--and now I notice the ring more in the film, too. I can't remember if Sweeney has it on when he first arrives in London.

All the parts mentioned above are highlights for me as well---

I agree with Donna as I said in the first question's post-the pics of Tim and Johnny looking over the script but honestly, every page is a treasure as far as I'm concerned.

The photo of Sweeney's profile in the front of the book is stunningly beautiful.

Oh yes Amp! That was another special favorite of mine. That cameo-look photo.

Agreed---one of several thud1.gif photographs----do you think Tim & Co. realized how sexy some of those still photos were?

For me it was special because of the many bloody Sweeney Pictures, where he kills. cool.gif And that you can read the whole movie with pictures. thumbsup.gif

I liked the illustrated story at the end of the book-since I have seen the film I can imagine the music when I look at the pictures- sorta as a substitute until the disc is released. smile.gif Anne r

I'm coming in late on this, but my personal favorite part of the book was the section that covered the recording sessions. I loved reading about the different people's perspectives on how they approached the music, especially with many of them having not sung like that before. And, oh, to be a fly on the wall when Burtno and Sondheim and the orchestra were all in the same room together!

I think my favorite photos were the ones of Tim and Johnny as well. And all the costume sketches and set workups were great. It's a crime if Colleen Atwood doesn't get an Oscar nod for this. I still think she got robbed for the Sleepy Hollow costumes.

Very good point about Colleen getting robbed! And this year is such a strange year because of the strike...
