The old thread was getting a bit long, let's continue here!

Looks like a private Boston area screening for BLACK MASS! I think we are safe to "assume" that Johnny will attend?!

You can read all of the article and info here: https://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/names...Rn2H/story.html

Here's a short bit from the article:

QUOTE
Prepare for a Johnny Depp sighting in Brookline. The cast of “Black Mass” will be in town Sept. 15 for a private screening of the Whitey Bulger biopic at the Coolidge Corner Theatre.

Reps for the movie didn’t say who will walk the red carpet at the local premiere, but Depp’s “Black Mass” producers have already said that he’s excited to do promotion for the film.

This is a VERY good article about director Scott Cooper and how he envisioned the film.

Thanks Karen--All interesting articles. Too bad about Sienna's role being cut, but then again, that isn't too uncommon in films.

I am annoyed by the fact that the persona of Catherine Greig was cut from the film. I suppose it didn't serve the overall tone, and it was a small role, but she played a BIG role in his life and his ultimate apprehension. Poor Sienna Miller. I like her and I'll bet her performance was stellar. I guess we'll get to see it (maybe) on the dvd/blu-ray.

yes, almost overrun with them here and almost spoils it, BUT I'm glad, and I think this movie will do well in my area. People here (Eastern MA - lots of Cape Codders were Bostonians first) need to know it is NOT a glorification of Whitey's career.

Fingers crossed that we see something of her performance in the DVD!!

I couldn't agree more Amp! I'm hoping for good press and solid box office numbers. We know Johnny's portrayal of Bulger will be spot on!
