I've heard that there should be a director's cut for the US....but .... time will tell.
And does anyone else think it STUPID to release PE in Japan so late? Depp is HUGE HUGE HUGE there...and with the DVD so readily available months before??? NOT good planning the way my brain sees it. But hey, that's just me.

I don't get that either Karen---especially with the DVD release, however, this is a film that's great to see on the big screen. Hopefully the fans there will still go see it...
Oh yeah---really hoping for a director's cut as well..........

I'm a little leary about this info. It just doesn't make sense to release a DVD before it's hit all the theaters. I wonder if these places aren't jumping the gun to get pre-orders.

A Directors cut would be good, so I may just wait and see if they plan to release one before ordering.
I agree about the Japanese release date too, especially as Japan is Region 2, the same as the UK. It's really screwy!!

Agree with you on both points.
Would definately buy a director`s cut if there was one.
The release date does seem early, but maybe they want to get in before the dvds of transformers etc., hit the shops. Whatever the reason, the earlier the better

Ok, well HMV is probably our biggest record store now that the Virgin stores have gone bust, and they have been around forever, so they are legit. BUT, that second disc is only available from them, so my guess would be that they have just the interviews we have all seen from the EPKs. I could be wrong though, so I will take a look when it hits their shops as we have one locally.

That may be true about the illegal downloads but isn't that sad that people who worked to make this film won't be getting any of the revenue from the lost sales!!?? Bootleg copies deny hard earned income to those who rightfully deserve to be paid for their work on films, music, books etc.
We strongly discourage the purchase of and the free downloading of any and all copyrighted materials. It denies people their rightful salaries and income from their materials, not to mention it's against the law everywhere on the globe.

I mentioned in a post a while ago about the release date for the DVD. I figured it would probably be pretty late so as not to be released before the movie had premiered everywhere, namely Japan and Italy in December. That's just nuts for them to make the DVD available before releasing the movie everywhere, especially in Japan where Johnny is so popular. Who makes these decisions anyway? I was really counting on Japan to boost the bottom line at theaters. This sounds like a bad idea to me, but what do I know? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
