Alton Towers Announces Re-Branding to 'Chocolate Towers'

Chocolate Towers launches on 8th April with a whole host of choctastic activities for people to enjoy. The re-brand comes directly after the launch of new family ride ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and will be celebrated with tonnes of unbechocable activities for two weeks until 23rd April. Chocolate Towers is chocarilliant news for businesses who can buy Chocolate Family Fun Days within the period at no extra cost and take full advantage of all the extra activities on offer.

During the Chocolate Towers period the entrance to the park will be transformed to resemble a chocolate wonderland. Giant sweets and chocolate men will meet and greet guests whilst the sweet scent of chocolate permeates the atmosphere. Sweets and candy canes will adorn the trees and twice a day the specially built enormous volcano ‘Chocuvious’ will explode 90lbs of chocolate treats amongst sparkling confetti into the hands of guests. An aerial show throughout the day under an enormous Easter egg will keep visitors delighted.

Chocolate Square along with Cocoa Street forms the hive of choctastic activities. On the Chocolate Stage there’ll be game shows, gunge tanks and cake decorating, entertainment from the Chocolate Follies – the World’s only Chocoholic Showgirls. There’ll be interactive fun for smaller kids, who can decorate eggs and even make chocolate. Everyone can go chocolate crazy with chocolate fountains, chocolate trails, face painting and even chocolate tattoos. Kids can meet Father Chocolate in his own Chocolate grotto, collect magical purple tickets around the park and claim a fabulous prize at the end of the day.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride is a fantastical, multi-sensory indoor ride, which takes riders on an unforgettable adventure into the heart of Willie Wonka’s world. The ride uses groundbreaking special effects on a scale never seen before at a theme park. This is the only place in the world where anyone can experience Charlie Bucket’s amazing journey; where guests will feel, smell and see what happened to Charlie and his spoilt companions. Take a journey with Charlie by boat, on foot and in the Great Glass Elevator! It’s a truly interactive experience where guests can marvel at the scrumptious river of chocolate, smell the delicious candy, enjoy the fantastical landscape… and beware of the mischievous Oompa-Loompas!

Charlie’s journey ends with a trip in the Great Glass Elevator – a world first, multi-sensory ride, which uses revolutionary, military-quality simulator technology that will whizz guests on a virtual 3-D tour through the heart of the Factory and beyond! This jaw-dropping finale, will have everyone screaming for more, as the Elevator lurches, shudders, tilts and eventually explodes through the factory roof, all the time offering a 360 degree panorama of sights to its terrified passengers! Yippeee!

For companies that stay over night, the Alton Towers Hotel will continue the chocalievable theme with fun to be had in the Waterpark with a free chocolate beach ball given on check in, plus shows from the Candy Pops and the Chocolate Follies. For the adults there’s the Time Out lounge with chocolate cocktails, chocolate fountains, a chocktail singer and even a chocolate casino in which guests can use chocolate chips to gamble!
