THE central character in the book and Hollywood hit Chocolat is to be brought back in Joanne Harris's new book.
The former French teacher has re-introduced Vianne Rocher, the main character of the Whitbread-shortlisted novel Chocolat, in her latest book The Lollipop Lady, out on May 7 next year.
Chocolat enjoyed massive success when it was turned into a film starring Johnny Depp and Juliet Binoche, who played Vianne.
The new novel is based in the small rural town of Montmarte where Vianne has settled with daughters Rosette and Annie above her little chocolate shop.
Nothing unusual marks them out anymore and life is peaceful. That is until Zozie de l'Alba, the lady with the lollipop shoes comes into their lives and everything begins to change.
This new friendship is not what it seems and the ruthless, devious, Zozie de l'Alba has plans that will shake their world.
With everything she loves at stake, Vianne must face a difficult choice, to flee as she has done many times before or to confront her most dangerous enemy.
Barnsley-born Mrs Harris, who lives in Huddersfield with her husband and daughter, has sold more than four million titles, which include Blackberry Wine, Five Quarters of the Orange and Gentlemen and Players.
She was a French teacher at Leeds Grammar School for 12 years before she became a full-time author.
