Browsing through my cable guide, I found that on Charlie Rose tonight, Jann Wenner of RSTone and Hunter S. Thompson friend is a guest. This airs on my local PBS channel at 11:30 tonight. Check your own PBS station to check if it's playing in your area..

EDIT TO ADD: Graydon Carter of Vanity Fair is also a guest, and he's a producer of Gonzo the doc that's screening in LA tonight......

Donna, looking at Charlie Rose's website it looks like it may be nation wide. I'm not seeing anything that says check your local listings. Charlie airs on the east coast at 12:30 a.m. I'll have to see who his guests are.

(This has not been a good week (for me) thus far and it's only Tuesday) :lol:

It was a great show and I encourage those who can to watch it. The Gonzo piece is only the first 1/2 hour. It's well worth taping (hint, hint - I forgot to set my recorder). They talked quite a bit about Johnny and how he and Hunter loved each other. They expanded beyond that a bit and Jann Wenner sort of summed it up: "I see Johnny as this sort of fairy godfather spirit for us all."

I echo what FAN said about the show being a "must see." As they talked about the relationship between Johnny and Hunter it was clear how close the two of them became. There is a piece where Charlie Rose interviews Johnny as well. Hearing Johnny speak of Hunter with so much love and respect it was obvious how much Hunter meant to Johnny. Johnny's passion for Hunter was beautiful to see. It's the true definition of friendship.

It was also mentioned how much Johnny loved the writers of the Beat Generation and how Hunter was the last of them.

I found the show cool to watch and inspiring by what they said in regards to Hunter and to Johnny.

I just returned home and caught the part where they were talking about Johnny/Hunter--yes, definitely worth watching! Loved hearing all of them sing Johnny's praises!

I just watched the interview with Johnny, Terry Gilliam and Charlie Rose. What a great interview. I liked the part where HST referred to Johnny as the "termite in my basement stealing parts of my personality."
