What an interesting note "criminal background check".... hmmm wonder if they are beefing up some security now? That's a wee bit scary if you think about it.
A BC takes a little time to complete sometimes. Looks like Joliet later in the month?

Thanks, Karen. Interesting, this is the second casting call for Joliet but is far more specific than the earlier one on what they want for inmate-types. I assume this is for the Pierpont and gang Michigan City breakout.

Criminal background checks are fairly common place when hiring people. Shoot, even the volunteers at Church now have to pass a criminal background check.
Smart move.

Fan, I think this is correct.

Broken nose or facial scars a plus !! Very interesting !! lol ;) . I am glad background check is done. Being extra safe is the better choice in any job market. Too many times the least likely person is not what they appear to be. Sad but true. :(

 I know it's not funny it it's happened to you, but this line cracks me up, too! Reminds me of some of the strange requirements for the POTC casting....

Very interesting requirements they are asking for. I'm thinking they may be doing background checks for these extras because it sounds like they will be filming in the "Charm School at Joliet" which is the knickname for the prison there. Don't think I want to hang around the filming that day :)

There is a bit about the phone message that you get if you apply to be an extra at this link, plus somebody tells about their day as an extra.

Ok I am a little off beat but when I read the police check I thought they wanted people with a record.......like the time they asked at my emigration interview to come to Oz if I had a criminal record and the response that popped in my head was "I didn't know you still needed one?" needless to say that wasn't the answer I gave. :)

Sometimes I can get the article when I refresh the page and other times not. The article says that filming may start Monday at the old Joliet facility and at the nearby Streetville prison. They expect a film presence for as long as two weeks. Somehow I doubt that filming will take that long but we'll find out. For those who may not know, Joliet is southwest of Chicago, about the same distance away from downtown as Aurora but south of there.
