Title: Vague PE premiere mention

Karen - May 27, 2008 01:07 PM (GMT)
THis is an article about one of the cars in the film and at the very bottom it mentions that this car (and I think others) will be flown to LA for the PE premiere next summer. I look for a Chicago prem as well. I know there are rumors of something else on a very small local level and I think that's highly probable.

I was SO hoping for a Chicago premier. Do you think there would be a possibility of having premiers in LA and Chicago? Would the stars go to both? I emailed Universal through its website about having the premier in Chicago but don't know if it went to the right person. Still :crossfingers that it could happen here.

Yes there could be premieres in more than one city and emailing Universal won't help. Premieres are not "fan" driven events.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Chicago premiere because I only live 6 hours away (by car) and I would be going to that one. I know that Karen will keep us updated on this as soon as she knows something definite.

How does fan attendance at a Premiere work? For instance, do you get a ticket? If so,how does one get a ticket? Do you actually go in or stand ouside?

Premieres are not fan based events. They are industry events. You can't get a ticket or get on a list. They aren't for fans.

Sometimes premieres are turned into corporate charity events and a percentage of tickets can be sold. As was done for AWE last year when a percentage of the seats sold for $1500. a piece. And again, these were aimed for corporate donors, although some fans did buy tickets.

Fan are often allowed to stand behind a barracade area and are not attending the event therefore do not go inside or attend any of the parties.

I can't stress enough that premieres are for members of the film industry and they are invited guests. Fans stand outside the baracades.

I look for a couple of premieres, one in LA one elsewhere. But that's just a gut feeling. Any premiere is over a year away. Let's please don't get focused on premieres yet. ;) I just thought the car aspect was fun.
