Title: Johnny discussing Allan Ginsberg - video

jeppody - May 18, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
Some months ago we were discussing a photograph of Johnny sitting at Allan Ginsberg kitchen table, and were saying we would like to hear the whole story of that picture. Well, the clip has turned up on Youtube, and it is nothing like I was expecting. It is well worth watching.

I can only credit the person who posted it on Youtube, Kristie89k, as they don't say where this originally came from. So if anybody knows, please let me know so I can credit correctly. Thanks. :thumbsup

That's such a great video!

I especially like his demonstration with hands and lips of how awed he felt to be talking with a literary hero.

Thank you so much for posting that link. I was fortunate to meet Ginsberg in 1994 when he came to an area bookstore where I live. To hear Johnny talk about him brought that memory back to me.

How cool it was for Johnny to have met him and then to have been able to talk with him before he passed on.

This is one of the best clips of JD I've seen in a very long time...

I know it's been said MANY times before, but JD seems like such a genuine person. He speaks about his loved ones with so much affection and honesty that you can't help but adore him...

Didn't it feel like we caught a very personal glimpse of Johnny? What a moving tribute to Allen. Thanks for posting that, Anne.

Thank you for the clip. What a touching, heartfelt tribute to one of Johnny's beloved idols. I can't help but think too, that Mr. Ginsberg was equally smitten by the humble Mr. Depp. Thanks, from Nemosfriend

Oh I think so too. Who could help but be smitten by one of the worlds most beautiful people. Johnny is truly pure and an angel. I could feel the tears, you could just feel how deeply this affected him. Thank you jeppody.

What a touching clip! It was nice hearing Johnny talking about someone that he idolized. As he was talking about it being a "dream come true" to meet Ginsberg, it made me think that this might be one of the reasons he is so gracious to his fans - he understands how it is to meet someone you admire so much.

Thanks for posting this, Anne.
