Title: Inside the Actor's Studio Now Available with Extra
Description: Region 1-apparently not in the US
herestoyou - May 17, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
OK, this really irritated me, and that's putting it mildly. Look what's now being sold on the BRAVO site---with the additional minutes that were on the Japanese version. :banghead
http://bravotv.seenon.com/detail.php?p=420...theactorsstudioSo, do I go ahead and order yet another version to get the extra minutes?
EDIT: I sent an email asking if this version actually does have that Bonus feature---waiting for reply.-Donna

Karen and Donna  this irritates me also-I bet they were trying to sell "older" DVD's still in their inventory-not sure I am going to order it since I already spent money on the one without the extras. Anne r

Yup! They suck.
I am not going to buy it. I've got the downloads and that will do for now. Maybe later, much later. Money is tight.

I've just heard that the Region 2 dvd that officially comes out in the UK Monday, but has arrived at already with some people, has the extras too.
Something is definately not right. Are you people in the US able to return the one you already have in exchange for one with the extras?

As far as I know, once the DVD is opened, it can't be returned. Does anyone else know if that's not true? Don't know if I"ll buy this new version now, as I'm pretty *annoyed*......

The extras should be listed on the back of the DVD. If they're not there, then you should be able to return it. I wonder if it is possible to contact Bravo and tell them it will be returned if it's played and the extras are not there. This is about as shoddy a deal as any since they held back Johnny's final episode on 21 Jump Street to release with Season 5 - hoping Depp fans would buy it. I didn't buy that but I'll probably, spitting and grumbling, buy this if it's really the expanded version.

I purchased mine from Shout Factory which had the Extras listed on their web site, but the DVD I was sent was just the 50 minute version. I contacted them and they credited the difference between their price and amazon's price. I told them that's the reason I ordered it from them and not amazon. I didn't think of returning it, as I assumed this was all we were going to get. :banghead

If the DVD sales website listed Extras, and you don't get Extras, it's misrepresentation, regardless of wether or not you've opened the box.
The Misrepresentation happened first.
Occasionally this happens to me, and I put up a fuss by clearly stating the facts, and even thought the company may not want to hear it, they have always refunded money and I've given the product back.
Wrong is wrong. Sometimes reminders are needed.

I agree, which is why I had them credit me the difference. I rec'd the DVD way back in Jan/Feb., so I don't think they would take it back now. If I had known that the longer version was going to come out, I definitely would have sent it back for a refund. I think it's more misrepresentation from BRAVO than any distributor. Obviously SFactory thought they were getting the extended version and were then shipped the 50 minute version. That's the reason why I'm hesitant ordering the longer version as I don't want BRAVO getting the benefits. Maybe BRAVO will offer a "turn in" program for those of us that purchased the original but want the longer version...........yeah, right.... :P Maybe I can contact BRAVO........ ;)

This is very frustrating! I already bought my copy of the DVD hoping it had more on it. I did download the extras. I guess I just stick with what I got. I don't really want to give them anymore of my money.

Buyer beware! Amazon sent one of their email alerts advertising the ITAS DVD and after scrolling to the "DVD details" the length was listed as 50 minutes. It is the same one I bought in Jan/Feb. Anne r

That is true. The show is the same 50 minute show as before. The extra 17 minutes are a separate feature.....like deleted scenes and not part of the featured program according to those who got the Japanese and UK versions. The Bravo site clearly shows two extra segments, one of which is extra scenes not in original broadcast. So we shall see.

I don't even have the downloads. Could someone please point me in the right direction. Thank you
jeppody - May 29, 2008 04:25 PM (GMT)
Just wanted to confirm for everybody who can play Region 2 dvds. My UK version of ITAS came today, and it does have the Bonus interviews. woohoo
Sorry to rub it in, but I did get a couple of enquiries, and I can't PM right now, so I thought I would mention it here.

Sad news for Region 1---apparently someone on the Zone ordered from the Bravo site and guess what? yep, none of the extras are on the DVD that were advertised on their site. :banghead

I am so sorry to hear that Donna. It is so wrong, yet again, that dvd extras are only available to the lucky ones who live in the right countries. I have lost track of how many of Johnnys dvds I have in both Region 1 and 2, just to get the extras. I'm lucky that I have a multi regional dvd player, so can do this, but many, many people can't. It really is time that distributors get their acts together and supply us all with the goodies, regardless of where we live.
Ok, off my soap box now...sorry.
I do have a question though. Does the Region 1 dvd have James Lipton speaking about Johnny at the beginning of the dvd? And also I am sure that some of the questions are in a different order to the version I have seen before i.e. The Romanian guy in the audience nows gets to ask Johnny his question first, where as I am sure he came after the girl who asked Johnny if he would ever act as a woman. I'm just curious.
