Thanks, Karen. Hmmmm....an update on the Libertine?
There was another rumor, I think it was posted on the PE Columbus blog within the last couple days, about a Lincoln biopic. Spielberg is apparently going ahead with his long-planned Lincoln film early next year and JD is said to be interested in the John Wilkes Booth role. It was announced on a local Wisconsin radio newscast.

I heard that on a radio station here this morning too. Who knows?

They also mentioned Liam Neeson as Lincoln.
I guess time will tell. lol

Maggy Libertine came to my mind as well ;)
I've heard Johnny attached to the Lincoln film before as well---wouldn't that be a great double bill---Johnny/Liam Neeson(thanks for that bit Karen). I think I'd rather see this go ahead before the pornographer one....... :P

Well who knows if either is true? lol These sure are time will tell items, we know everyone loves to attach Johnny to their film, but this book isn't a big seller or anything...it's rather obscure. Checking used book stores for it today.

No luck at the library for me.....not a single copy in any of the 180 libraries in our consortium. :(

 Hmmm... Very intriguing. May be interesting to look for the hints he left through-out the book indicating it was not written by the "author" that it is credited to. Not must interested in the subject matter. But love to try and solve (or find) things that are said to be difficult to find. Was not sure about the "Libertine" in the beginning and found it was not so bad. In fact quite interesting in ways.
:thanks Karen for the information

I felt that Johnny's performance in The Libertine should have won him the Oscar.......

Donna, I agree with you wholeheartedly that he should have gotten an oscar for "The Libertine". What I was saying is that I usually do not care for the subject matter of those types of films. However I am not totally adverse to seeing them when there is an interesting story. Which of course "Libertine" indeed had. To be honest I had never even heard of John Wilmot prior to the movie. I own the DVD and have watched it many times. His performance was outstanding. As most of his performances are. I truly apologize if it appeared as if I implied otherwise. The scene when he is carried home for the last time alone was an oscar performance. Not to mention when he was at The House of Lords.
Please forgive my lack of explanation in my earlier post.

Sandra I didn't take your post as a criticism of JD's performance at all. I just referenced your post since you mentioned TL, to state my opinion about his great performance. I actually think we're on the same page :thumbsup No apologies necessary :)

:D Donna, Thank you for explaining what you meant in response to my post. I always worry that I will not put into words what I am trying to say. I am so pleased that you understood exactly what I was saying. It makes me feel so much better. I would be so saddened if anyone here misunderstood me. Johnny ROCKS! As well as all my new found friends here a :jdr . Have a great Friday and an even better weekend all !! Your humble rookie, Sandra :D
