Yup, that Danny Depp! According to several sources, he has written a crime thriller set in Hollywood. You can read about it here:

and here:

His literary agent is in the UK with MBA:

(she may prefer British flavored books but when the name is Depp, I guess she makes an exception! miao!)

First Christi gets a producing assignment and now Danny has a book being published. The Depp clan is broadening their horizons! I wonder if IN will purchase film rights...

:thanks FAN---what GREAT news for Danny Depp! It does sound like an interesting plot line, too. Yes, wonder who might star if it's made into a film :shistle

:claphands to the Depp clan---both Danny & Christi!

It reminds me a little bit of the recent news about Anthony Pellicano, PI, and it also reminds me of the indie film about trying to get Johnny to star in their film.

It will be interesting to see if any elements of the writing style or approach from The Brave can be found in the new book. It's been a long time, but you never know.

woohoo WOO HOO!! Another book to add to the list of must reads. :D

:thanks for all the extra info too Maggy. :thumbsup

As for a movie, I wouldn't mind putting a bet on IN going for it. Wouldn't it be a great twist if Johnny played the detective protecting the movie star!! B)

Here's another similar article, this one from the Telegraph. Still no word on the U.S. publisher... Perhaps the bidding war is still going on.

I love how creative the Depp siblings are. And I can't wait for our first glimpse of the elusive Mr. D.P. Depp! Note the reference in this article to already planned sequels!

Here's another article. This one says that the pre-emptive bid by Simon & Schuster was for U.S. rights. I love how it describes Danny's writing. It sounds like it's a big step above the norm, to the surprise of no one here.

Wow, great news. Maybe there will be a picture of him on the dust cover. At one time I thought we had pictures of Daniel Depp, but I guess not.
