Title: Milwaukee Filming
Description: To start 5/2?

MaggieP - April 29, 2008 12:53 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, saw on the news this AM that PE filming is scheduled to begin 5/2 in Milwaukee at the Historical Society building downtown.

Here is a local news report, mentions some info about behind the scenes stuff!

Thanks for the link Maggie--that was an interesting video with nice pics of the place being used for the filming. :) I didn't hear them mention a start date of 5/2 though, or was that just on the newscast you saw? Guess we'll just have to keep our ears open and look for stepped up activity in all these different locations over the next few days. :)

I looked on channel 12's website, which is wisn.com and they didnt have the video from this AM's news report about the filming starting 5/2 posted yet. I'll keep checking the site, sometimes they are a day or so behind on posting the stories they just covered. They did say 5/2 though!! I WAS GLUED TO THE TV!!!

Thanks Maggie--that's what I figured--you saw in on the TV, but the web site doesn't have the bit up yet. Well, guess we'll know for sure on Friday--keep your eyes open for big trailers pulling in somewhere! :)

Although they didn't mentioin the date, they DID say only one day of shooting. I guess that means it won't go into the weekend :( as I was hoping. Would it be bad of me to hope they need an extra day? :shistle

What they exactly said was "johnny depp will be in Milwaukee this weekend filming Public Enemies." And then said it was scheduled to begin 5/2 and talked about how it had been pushed back because of the littleBO fire. I remember thinking 5/2 isnt the weekend really?? But they did say it was just one day of filming I think :(

Still a chance to see the great JD though! I bet the crowds will be big though.

MichelleG - April 29, 2008 02:19 AM (GMT)
I'm sure as the day gets closer the news will really pick up on the story and we'll get more details. I'm pretty sure most places I've read (Rod's Blog) always mentioned it would be one day and the filming will be indoors.

Here's the info that we had from a few days ago, it rolled to page 2 and got lost. LOL ....

Ok, so I found this article and it states they're going to do some filming in Madison on May 2nd :blink:

http://blogs.jsonline.com/allpoliticswatch...at-capitol.aspx

Can they be at two places? Do they actually film on weekends? I only live 10 minutes from downtown Milwaukee, I could always just drive by everyday and see if I see anything :ph43r:

OK as of right this moment, lol to the best of my knowledge, the TENTATIVE schedule is this:

Mirror Lake /the Dells now

Madison the weekend of the 2nd

Columbus/Beaver Dam May 5/6

Milwaukee? scheduled for "sometime" this week

Edit to include this item just in, that says they have their permit to access the capitol in Madison for set up on the 1st, with filming on the 2nd., just like we said.

:lol: We'll never know, they're being sneaky :ph43r: A guy at work today said he thought they were done filming in Milwaukee because the historical society is supposed to open back up early May (next week). I told him not until Friday but who knows :lol: If they've been here already they must have been super sneaky because it hasn't been on the news at all this week.

SarcasticCheese - April 30, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
According to a hotel owner up in Manitowish (not the Little Bo owner), they filmed in Milwaukee already. It said something along the lines of they packed up and went to Milwaukee for a few days and came back and shot in Little Bo again. That's a lot of driving back and forth, and I think we probably would have heard if they filmed in Milwaukee already.

Then again, maybe they are getting better at being sneaky. :lol:

Oh my tired and over confused brain! :lol:

It is like we are Purvis and he really is Dillinger...and we just drove past him on the side of the road.

That's a true thing! :unsure:

Billiroo - April 30, 2008 11:43 PM (GMT)
This is just so cool and so fun. It seems at first they let everyone know where they were going to film and when...now no one seems to know. Johnny wasn't going to be in Milwaukee, isn't that right? Because it was the FBI offices.
But I don't remember what was being filmed in Madison. :blink: I am so confused.

Osh - April 30, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
It is cool and fun! I have never been involved in anything like this in my life. This is all so bizarre to me...good bizarre. And I am almost finished with the PE book, and I just don't want it to end. I want to keep talking about it!

Karen - April 30, 2008 11:57 PM (GMT)
This is the very first time that one of his films has this much location filming so it's new to me too. And here I thought this was going to be a boring old spring as we waited for bits and pieces to come out about the filming. LOLOLOLOL

I think that they are filming more "sensitive" scenes and need to keep a more secure work environment for the cast and the crew. And we do want an excellent film! :thumbsup But as long as "general" info is out there, we'll talk about it. No info about where he or they are staying please. ;) But then, I know y'all knew that already. :bow

Milwaukee was supposed to be interiors of a bank scene, so I think Johnny would have been here. Madison is the FBI filming. To throw us for another loop, the news said a few hours ago they will be filming here "next week". :thud This is fun though trying to figure out what's going on and where :)

I have to agree with the Purvis analogy :lol:

Keep your eyes open! I'm sure if you see lots of truck/trailers starting to show up---could be where the action will be!

You know, these "movie people" are really not being very fair to us "Depp Watchers". Don't they know most of us work and need some advance warning about when and where they will be filming? We need to schedule time off to go on our road trips. All these changes are really getting bothersome. So what if the weather doesn't cooperate? So what if an actor wants a day off? Come on, movie folks, think about us, your uninvited viewing audience , and stick to a schedule!

*THE ABOVE REMARKS MADE TOTALLY TONGUE-IN-CHEEK* (well, sort of) :P

raetherese - May 1, 2008 03:58 AM (GMT)
Also tongue in cheek....

Don't they know how hard it is to be a fan? This is like a full time job :)

Donna, you, Karen and everyone else who has posted info have been so helpful! I can't thank all of you enough for all your sleuthing.

I get dizzy just trying to keep up with where and when things are happening! LOL user posted image

But it really is a great ride we're on! Even for those of us who can't be there physically, I feel like we're part of the making of this film!
I can't think of anything more special to us Johnny fans! woohoo

MichelleG - May 1, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
I took a detour on the way home from work to see if anything is happening down there yet. This is what I saw:

* No trucks
* All streets are open
* One security guard outside
* All shades are down
* Man painting near the door

It looks like they might be still be getting ready. I don't think it will be this weekend but will check again tomorrow :shistle

Edited to add link:
http://blogs.jsonline.com/dudek/archive/20...oves-again.aspx

Looks like the permits for street closures have been withdrawn and now they're looking at sometime next week.

Thanks Michelle for the updates...this is giving me a headache! LOLOLOL :blink:

My sister said she drove by there early this AM and there were cherry pickers outside and all kinds of people working outside the building...maybe they were done by the time Michelle drove by..They are just trying to confuse us!

I think this is a new article about a classic limousine that will be used in filming.

Thank you to everyone for being so wonderful about keeping things up to date! :thumbsup

just wondering... Any other news regarding any dates in Milwaukee?
Does anyone know if they are still going to be filming at the Historical Society, or did they already sneak through? :blink:

Karen - May 8, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
THanks Donna for the article.

And Countess, not too sure what the deal is with Milwaukee. :unsure:

Haven't heard anything about new about Milwaukee. I'm pretty sure they didn't come thru yet as no one has reported it.

It has been awhile. I think the last article we had stated that filming was delayed and would occur after Columbus, but I think it's all "tentative."-lol

Thanks! I'm really glad that I found this site, and I appreciate all of the feedback, even if you don't know. ;)

I took the bus downtown earlier today ...had to go to the library to take care of some stuff my computer won't let me do. One of the things I did was load several wallpapers I made to http://www.fanpop.com/spots/johnny-depp/wallpapers/ ...I'd give you the exact links, but I can't even access the site from my computer. Every time I try, I get booted off with a forced shutdown. It's gotten to the point where I'm lucky if I can open up my emails without getting forced shutdowns. It's an old and primitive thing, and it's been helping me with my job search, but I fear it won't last much longer. I'm glad that it's being agreeable with JDR (so far).

Sorry for getting sidetracked... I just wanted to share what I was able to find out. I walked down to the Historical Society after my two hours were up at the library, and found two people that I asked about what's going on. The first was a nice security guard, and I asked when they would be re-opening. He said not until after the filming, so we didn't miss it. He didn't have any leads as to when it would happen (or at least wasn't able to share them, if he did). He also said the Transit Authority has been wondering about that (because of re-routing).
Afterwards, while waiting at the bus stop across the street, I met one of the downtown 'Goodwill Ambassadors' who was handing out pamphlets for upcoming events (RiverSplash, etc.), and I asked her if she'd heard anything about the filming. She said that she heard the week of the 12th, but it was 'tentative'.
I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks again!
TheCountess
