First and foremost, the people of Oshkosh were awesome last night. Everyone was respectful to each other and the others trying to do their job and make everything run smooth. I was very much impressed and give them a woohoo

I was lucky enough to have my JD moment last night. What an amazingly gracious and kind man. I didn't realize that when he moved on to the next person that I had a tear rolling down my eye, he turned back around and reached out to me saying "Are you ok sweetheart?" Before I could answer, I looked at Jerry and smiled and he said to JD, "She's ok, aren't you girl?" Honestly, I didn't know that I had teared up :) I then watched him stop and take some pics with these adorable little ones that were next to me holding their Pirates movies. These kids were the cutest and so well behaved and I was so happy that he stopped to pose with them even though it wasn't part of the agenda. He really made them happy I have to say Jerry is a great guy too. Everyone made sure to give Jerry some love He was smiling and seemed have a great time. He is also very handsome up close :)

Anyway, the whole meet and greet was smooth thanks to the fine people and law enforcement in Oshkosh and Winnebago county. They made sure everyone was safe and enjoyed the evening. With the amount of people that were there... my hat goes off to them. Awesome job.

I was lucky enough to be hanging out with the Michelle and Vickie from Rod's blog and some of Vickie's wonderful friends. That made the night even more special. Michelle was gracious enough to play photographer since she had met JD in Columbus, so she documented my whole experience. Love that gal.

I'm 32 and I couldn't wait to call my parents, who were both so excited. They remember in 1986 a little show called Jump Street that made them have to get cable for their daughter so she wouldn't have to miss any week's episodes :) They were both happy so happy!! :snoopy

Alright, time to go to work after hardly any sleep. Thought I would share my experience with all of you guys.

If you are downtown tomorrow, look for us...I will be the frazzled mom following the reporter and Evan after 2! (Evan and I will be there before 2 though...)

Usually things that are given to Johnny are handed to Jerry or Stephen or who ever is helping him at the time for safe keeping.

Thanks, everyone! It was around 7 or 7:30 last night. We had just arrived an hour or so before, so we were VERY lucky!

On a little side note, PBHgirl and I met during this whole crazy process. We have hung out and chatted and found out that we are like long, lost sisters or something. We like so many of the same things (including JD). I am just tickled that I got to have my Johnny moment with my new buddy! Who would have thought that a movie could make such awesome friendships?

For that I will forever be grateful for to Johnny and the whole "Public Enemies" movie :)

I wanted to comment on what you said Rachel, it's just so wonderful how many really nice people I've met because of Johnny. I've been blessed to make friends from all over the world! Johnny has a way of bringing together the best people!

um, this is like maybe my 5th post and I wanted to say something like that too, but didn't want to sound like a crazy fangirl or a freaky almost 40 year old.
My level of excitement over Public Enemies has surprised me! I have always liked Johnny Depp, I just didn't know how much I loved him until I started reading more about PE coming to Oshkosh, and how much children mean to him...one thing just led to another...

Evan and I are going to scout GoodWill for a trench-coat...we have the fedora. He wants to match "StreetWise" in case he makes it into a video!

I remember the first time I was with a group of Johnny people out in LA and we were all quoting lines from his movies and it was awesome! woohoo

Oh Osh.. the great thing about Johnny lovers is we may be older (I'm 32) but we are all young at heart. I remember in Columbus there was a woman that was 70 that was there with her granddaughter and I don't know who was more of a fan girl :) So, be proud of being a fangirl... although as we are learning... it is hard work. But very rewarding in the end.
