Others, of course, haven't been so lucky. Megan Granko of Rockford and Felicia Schellenberger of Orland Park have been following the Public Enemies production around, traveling to Crown Point and Chicago, but they said they've yet to meet Depp.
Been there, done that! But Believe and it will happen.

Thanks for the articles, Karen.

You just gotta love the determination that these fans have to see Johnny! I know if I lived closer, I'd be right there with them!
Loved the 'most famous living pirate' line! :captainjack

What I think is amazing is that people who've said that they never would have the chance to see Johnny ARE not only seeing him? They are meeting him. :snoopy
See....he does film all over the place! ;)

That is right. :) If somebody would have told me:" You are going to meet Johnny Depp on the 10th of January!" I would have said: "You are totally nuts!"
And so my dream finally came come true :thud I still cannot believe it tough. It was truly amazing :angel

Let's hope the fans get rewarded today in Aurora, with a glimpse (or more) of Johnny and maybe some new pics! :crossfingers

http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/courier...EPP_WEB.articleIt seems rather risky to announce a meet and greet (set for 7:00 this evening - how long does it take to fly to O'Hare? ) so far in advance. I hope they don't get overly inundated with fans...or maybe they will go for an unannounced earlier time, like 4:30 as was rumored, to avoid that very thing. Johnny is such a doll and I hope he doesn't get totally exhausted by his double duty.
edit: some have speculated that by announcing a set time that Johnny would be available it would exercise some crowd control beforehand. I imagine they are concerned not only for people's safey but also for the noise that could penetrate into the theater, disrupting filming. Hmmmm, it may not be so reckless after all.

I agree FJD... he's putting in a lot of hours. He probably does in any film he works on, but we're seeing it happen so perhaps we're more intuned to it.
Take care of yourself, Johnny.

A date with Depp at 7:00pm outside the Paramount Theatre sounds most inviting! I hope it all goes according to plan...there's nothing worse than having a crowd turn into a mob. But no doubt a mobster like JD knows what he's doing. Good luck to all!!

Whoa--that is interesting that they announce it. I think you're correct that this may help with crowd control. People can stake out their spots and security can hopefully maintain some kind of order. What an angel for him to do this, but I really do think he likes meeting the people, and let's face it, it's not everyday he gets to this part of the country. Good man, good pirate Johnny. :)

Hey, anything's possible. Ask someone from Columbus, WI (population about 4400) if they ever thought that Johnny Depp would not only be in their town, but filming a movie there for several days! ;)
