Karen, if this is in the wrong place please move it, but where are Christian Bale and Marion C(?) and Lily Taylor? I'm assuming that they were all in Wisconsin and Indiana for filming but nobody has seen them so far have they? I would think that they would see how good his interaction with the fans is making Johnny look in the press and news reports, and by not even coming out to wave at fans might make them look not so good. And Johnny's friendliness and graciousness is really great publicity for the movie. I'll bet everyone in those cities and those who read these reports and blogs will see this movie and hopefully even buy the DVD. Having Christian and Marion show up a little bit in public could only help. Do you suppose there could be something in their contracts as to whether or not they appear? They seem to be promoting this as a Johnny Depp movie with Christian and Marion, so are they just trying to promote Johnny? I have no idea how these things work, and I don't think Johnny would stand for anyone being told what they could or could not do, but I'm just wondering why they haven't been seen. Is this a really dumb thought/question? :blink:

Bale was filming in Chicago recently. There was a report that he signed autographs in front of his hotel several times. The Chicago shoots have been largely overnight ones so didn't attract much of a crowd. It wouldn't anyway since filming goes on all the time in Chicago and they don't get as star struck. Still, I'll bet Johnny will stir up more excitement! :D While Bale was also in Crown Point for a scene, he seems to have left before all the shooting was over for the day. He couldn't very well have met with fans while other filming was going on.

I don't think Marion Cotillard has started filming yet. Lili Taylor was seen in Crown Point and was also in Darlington. She's got a small part and isn't a big name with the general public. She was due to give birth in January so has another good reason to get back to her private space. Rory Cochrane met with fans in CP.

Most stars aren't as gracious and generous with their public as Johnny is but I'm sure the others will do their bit when the situation calls for it.

Studios don't generally use production time to market their movie. And most movies don't always have this kind of location filming in smaller cities. Johnny is one in a million when it comes to his fans, we really can't fault other cast members for not doing what he does as it's above and beyond.

Lili Taylor is playing Sheriff Holley, she has a few scenes in one specific part of the film. Marion Cotillard was reportedly on set in Columbus, but I don't know that it was confirmed. Her part of the film's over all story is also a small one.

Filming is reportedly continuing this week in Chicago, then will move to Aurora.

I heard that shooting is taking place near Clark and Newport in Chicago overnight tonight. I'll try and get some photos.

If anyone hears anything about Mr Bale, can you give me a shout out? I have a friend who admires Mr Bale as much I admire Johnny and I would love for her to have the wonderful experiences that I did in Columbus. I have heard that he is good with his fans but I don't think it is on the same level as Johnny.

I have an acquaintance who loves CB as much as I love Johnny! She will go nuts when I tell her what's going on!!

Well I went by the set location around 9 and saw.....nothing. There are some no parking signs up for tomorrow and wednesday night, so maybe the rain kept them from shooting tonight.
I did get some photos of what looks like a hobo village under the el tracks. I'm pretty sure that was built for P.E.

HMR, thanks for the report. If you hear of any other locations in advance, please post them. I'm in Chicago and am trying to find out when and where the filming might take place. Chicago is keeping pretty quiet about the filming here. And being such a big city, they could be filming anywhere! Does anyone know if Johnny is back in Chicago yet or if he won't be filming again until Aurora?

This is one Chicagoan who would get star struck -- especially if that star was Johnny Depp! I think a lot of filming in Chicago is done at night. I once caught a glimpse of Mel Gibson in downtown Chicago one morning getting ready to do a scene from "Payback", but was on the way to work and couldn't stand around and watch. I've also seen trailers on downtown streets and no parking signs on those streets, but never saw any other sign of filming during the day.

According to the imdb message board the filming was on South King last night.

And someone there is reporting that Johnny was on set last night.

Does anyone know if the train still runs during the hours they were filming.... *laughs* they must have to know eactly the times the train is supposed to come thru in order to avoid it on film! :D

I stopped by for a few minutes last night. They had a really cool old train on the tracks that they would move back and forth, but the real trains were going by too.
The crowd was small and kept too far from the action to see anything worthwhile.
Security is tighter in Chicago than in Crown Point, of course.

As much as I would love to see and shake hands with Johnny, I do want Jerry and staff to above all keep him safe. The videos of the crowds with Johnny were a little unnerving. With that many people anything could happen.
