Thanks Karen, and thanks to Rod too. :thumbsup
Both Billy and Marion were in Tim Burtons Big Fish, in fact they were married in it. Has anybody noticed any more connections?

I'm trying to find an industry mention...

I adore Billy! But as J. Edgar? This I gotta see. I always wanted to see Johnny and him work together, but I don't see them having any scenes together--of course not- it will be him and Bale together.

I've been looking today, too! I wonder where Rod heard it?

This seems to be a time will tell post...I keep searching...LOL..I wanted Val Kilmer. :P

Val fits in better, but he's much too tall. Crudup is a little guy.
Waitng to hear confirmed.

Wow! That would be an interesting choice... I don't picture Billy looking the least bit like Hoover, but I don't picture Christian Bale looking like Purvis either. I suppose with the magic of make-up all things are possible. I was kind of hoping Phillip Seymore Hoffman would land the part of Hoover. Time will tell....

Still rooting for Cruddup mates(but Kilmer, Hoffman are good choices too!)
I like Cruddup because I've seen him disappear into a role similar to Johnny....but haven't seen Kilmer in awhile, so that would be interesting & Hoffman, well, looks the part... :D
EDIT: Yes, this is definitely a "time will tell"......
