Karen - March 21, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
The owner of these pics has given JDR her kind permission to post her pics here.

Please remember that she owns these and has the copyright on them. I think they are some of THE most stunning images to come from the filming in Columbus.

We thank her!

Thank you so much for sharing your awesome pictures with us pbhgirl! woohoo

It's so exciting being a 'part' of this film even if it's only in spirit! I feel like I'm right there on the set with all of first hand reports and pictures!

Johnny looks stunning.

PBHgirl - March 23, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
You are all too kind, thank you so much! I had a lot of fun and all the hard work was worth it. When I was able to go on set Thursday and catch a few photos, Johnny once again proved himself a gentleman by acknowledging us with a tip of his hat and saying "Hi Ladies." I had the privilege of meeting him Tuesday as well, and was so impressed with the way he listened to me, made eye contact and seemed genuinely happy to greet folks. And --dreamy sigh-- I also got a hug. :) I was saddened to hear they had to pull back after the wacky fan in Darlington, because it was obvious Johnny is a class act who loves his fans. I hope that doesn't set the tone for the rest of the shoots.

Anyway, nice to "meet" you all here. Just wanted to check in and thank you all for the kind words about my photographs.

Oops, I forgot to say that these pics were taken over several days. From the Thursday before the shoot through the Thursday Johnny finished in Columbus. They are more-or-less in chronological order on my Flickr, starting at the top. So, the bottom pics are from the Thursday morning and early afternoon shoot. That's when I had the amazing chance to capture those close ups! I worked for DAYS for that opportunity and it paid off.

Thank you so much! Skilled amateur is probably being generous, but that's what I consider myself. I am planning to open a children's photography business in the fairly near future, though.

Thanks for the great pics michelle and sharing your encounter with Johnny. He's so respectful and courteous and I'm glad you were able to experience that first hand. That's great you want to do some children's photography. :)

LOL... I think you are being modest! You have a terrific eye!!! Glad to hear you are taking it further!

Do you mind if I ask what you are shooting with?

I use a Canon Rebel XT. For almost all of my PE shots, I used my 75-300mm telephoto lens. In fact, I remember being excited when I met Johnny because I had to switch lenses. He was close enough that my telephoto wouldn't do the job! Ha. I am a photo geek even in the midst of meeting Johnny.

*laughs* Photo geeks UNITE!!!
I am still shooting with an old fashioned 35MM... I just LOVE my Canon EOS Rebel XT, even if it is 35MM. Saving up for the digital.... need something that will handle my 70-300m lens. Are you using the auto settings or are you specifying?

Truly your composition set up is VERY eye appealing!

Thanks for the "geek" talk!

I also have a Rebel 35mm, and I used it during Christmas. There really is nothing quite like film to capture color. In fact, when the set is back up, I plan to do some full dynamic range digital shots of things just to try and capture that essence. Of course, that requires a tripod and it was too cold and busy for me to trek out with it everyday. Because of the fast paced momentum of chasing after actors and grabbing quick shots of the set when I could, I relied on auto settings more. I did do some manual shots, but not a lot. I am not experienced enough yet to think out the right settings while trying to keep up with the action!

Minxie - March 23, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
I have to agree.... 35mm is the best in my opinion. I have been resistant to digital for high quality pics for a long time. But they are getting better, so I am now saving for one. LOL.

I can imagine it would be hard to adjust your settings during that fast paced action.

Thanks again for sharing with this VERY amateur photographer. I look forward to seeing more of your pics!!!! Keep up the great work!!!! :thumbsup

I heard some young lady "jumped on" him. Too scary. These types of fans make me nervous. It's such a shame people have to get carried away.

:thanks Michelle for sharing your photos and your experiences on the set. He's amazing, isn't he?
