These are really fabulous sites about the women in Dillinger's life. We respect their copyrighted materials and will only link to their sites. Some of these sites have really wonderful pictures, they are worth taking the time to look at.

Please take a minute to read what they have to say.

Evelyn (Billie) Frechette - In November 1933, she met John Dillinger at a dance hall. She said, "There was something in those eyes that I will never forget. They were piercing and electric, yet there was an amused carefree twinkle in them too. They met my eyes and held me hypnotized for an instant."

Burrough places Billie's arrest at the Tumble Inn on April 9. She never saw John Dillinger again. A short two months later John had "met a pretty waitress named Polly Hamilton and was thinking of seeing more of her." That was the beginning of the end for him, as Polly's friend Anna Sage, a Romanian immigrant who ran a series of brothels, who was looking for a way to stay in the country.

Those are great links Karen, especially the "women" site. Billie's background and story are very interesting. She saw a different side of Dillinger, and it sounds like they really were in love.

Those were great sites Karen!
Amazing how some of those 'molls' looked. I guess I had the more 'Hollywood' version in my mind!
I loved Pat Herrington's comment about Dillinger. 'He was a good piece of company'.

That was a really wonderful comment!

About how they looked, versus how "Hollywood" looked...I guess the same holds true today. Most of us don't look much like Cameron, Halle, Charlize, Angelina...etc. LOL
