A typo? 5'9" is what he must have meant?

There has been some discrepency about his height. I think 5'8 or 5'9 is closer to it. Dillinger was 5'7". I'm about 5'5 and I had to look up a bit to see his eyes and I was about 2 feet in front of him.

The casting calls for Johnny's double for P3 called for someone who was 5'9". That sounded pretty official to me! I've been lucky enough to stand next to him a few times now and would have guessed he was 5'9"-5'10".

And the whole discussion about heights made me laugh. Actually I think Johnny's definitely taller than Tom Cruise, isn't he. As you guys said already I think he must be about 5'9, 'cause my friend who was at the ST premiere with me is that tall too and I think they were about the same height. :)

WOO HOOO! Be sure to check out his "Casting Call Experience" yesterday! And he took pics!

That was great--I like how this guy writes-lol! However, what did he expect? Yes, there will be hundreds, maybe thousands showing up---it's a Johnny Depp movie people! OK, I now think I should have purchased a plane ticket when he mentioned the demographics: "5% in their 50's". OK, they must need more people in that age range-lol! I loved his pictures and be sure to scroll down as he has pics of the changes to the buildings they're making which is really interesting, too.

He really wrote a very nice report of his experience!
Interesting questions they asked some of them about if they had a pet and a bicycle. The bike I guess I get but the pets?
I hope we get to read about people getting a call real soon!

Rod's updated his great blog with more info about the prep work going on up there, and he's posted MORE new fantastic pics of window displays and get this... he catches them in a boo-boo with some pens that were from the 1960s not the 1930s! Love it Rod!

Rod's posted more info and pics today! Columbus closed to traffic, they are preparing for an onslaught of people for the filming and some interesting tidbits about where trucks and star trailers will be parked. B) Get on over there and look!

I'm writing a piece for The Isthmus and will be mentioning the site - I only hope they do not edit out that part - I can get long winded and 800 words is just too short.

as for next week - I'm still out of the loop on WHEN they are shooting but I think MANY people IN the shoot are still out of the loop. I know my super secret contacts are not sure of TIME - just dates.

I also know that the entire cast should be here on Sunday - QUESTION - do you know if Johnny Depp travels OR is traveling with the whole family??

SO - just thought I would check in.

Welcome Rod....From what I have read, he only travels with his family if he is going to be on a long shoot in one location.

We love your blog! Sometimes in filming..the TIME of something is never certain but the DAY when it SHOULD happen is...barring weather incidents. ;)
So hang in there. Even Super Secret Contacts don't always know until the very last minute. And I do hope we don't end up on the cutting room floor. :unsure: But hey! That's journalism!

About Johnny. I hate to waffle on ya, but he sometimes has the family with him and sometimes he's on site with the bare minimum of an entourage. Usually he has a driver or two that double as bodyguards and handlers, generally he doesn't go too many places without Buck Holland and either Stephen Dueters and/or Keenen Wyatt. His sister, Christi Dembrowski is his personal assistant as well as an officer in his corporation and she's usually on site too.

Welcome Rod--glad you were finally able to get through to us. We've been enjoying your blog and all your great pics/details that you've provided.

I think Karen has answered the question about Johnny's family------he does have the ability to "fly under the radar" so to speak, so pinning him down at times is difficult. At least we know, he'll be in your area in the next few days, so we're looking forward to any news.

HEY - I found out if I click where the button is SUPPOSE to be - I'm in.

IF any of you are on in town on Sunday and see a Cardigan Corgi (LARGE weiner dog) and a guy with a camera (brown coat with hoody - sunglasses) it's me! Say hi!

If you plan on coming Monday - be ready for a little walk. Parking will be a problem but all roads lead to the center of town.

Toilets??? better bring a bag LOL Seriously - not sure ow they are going to handle THAT situation along with food and water. BUT - I'm sure they are getting instructions from Universal.

Ill be at the daughters house staying over night which is almost ON the set.
