Title: Does anyone know what tomorrow is?
Karen - March 2, 2008 01:30 PM (GMT)
Now we know it's March 03.
BUT! There's a reason our discussion begins tomorrow and a reason our new PE theme is now in place.
No prizes for the correct answers...just wondering......... B)

I'll be adding my two cents later on down the road. I'm only about 125 pages in. Life got in the way this week, but I'm not complaining. I went to Fort Knox and spent time with my son and his family.

Thanks Karen. It was great...exhausting, but great. I had a hard time keeping up with two little ones!

Welcome back Ellen! I'm glad you had such a nice visit with your family---don't you wish you had the energy of those little ones? :D

I'm only about 130 pages into the book myself. Like Ellen life got into the way this past week and I had to make some adjustments. Sounds like I decided to come back in the knick of time. Couldn't stay away from Johnny and all of you for too long. ;)

deppfan4ever - March 3, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
Yeah and it got more in the way than usual this past week. :banghead Hopefully I have things straightened out now so I won't have to check out again. Things are getting too exciting.

Oh man, do I ever! Aiden, age 3, doesn't take a nap, and only seems to require about five to six hours of sleep at night. Bless his heart, he sits in his bedroom and watches TV and plays with his train set while everyone else is sleeping.
Aaron, who will be two in May, is happiest when sitting in his highchair and eating...anything and everything!
I miss those two already. I'm so happy to have my third grandson here in town, only about six blocks away.

This book is really fighting me. I'm interested in the content but each time I try to settle down to read it, after about 3-4 pages I'm dozing off. I think it's because I'm so tired from working, that if I relax that's it for me. The only thing keeping me awake is constant activity.
I've got it out of the library, and it's due in less than 2 weeks. (Already renewed once)
I may have to just take a silent back seat on this one.
Not that I'm giving up, mind you. Still chipping away at it.
herestoyou - March 3, 2008 05:19 AM (GMT)
I don't know where you're at in the book Arnelle, but you can skip some and get to the parts that are mainly about Dillinger then at least you'd be aware of the parts that may be in the film....

It is a real challenge, isn't it amp? I've had the book checked out for three months now (keep requesting it from other libraries so I'm never without a copy....). There are so many characters introduced in the first hundred pages or so, and most of them go by more than one name LOL---I read and re-read and still probably couldn't pass a multiple choice test without cheating a little! But it is a fascinating story, well-researched, and well worth reading. Just makes me even hungrier for the film :) .

Mr. Burrough provides a ton of info for us to take in. I can't even begin to imagine how he kept it all straight. :writing
But the further you get in the book, all of a sudden it's pretty clear as the characters now have a more defined personality.
Don't worry, you know our discussions are for fun and entertainment! No test here!! :claphands Discussion and chat only! ;)

I received my copy from Amazon last week. I started reading (really sucked me in). Then my silly dressage horse decided he was a jumper and jumped out of the paddock clearing a 5 foot gate. The landing evidently was less steller and he fell, jumped up ran around the farm before being caught. He did not break anything (amazing) but he is swollen and very cut up. ($$) I've been playing nursemaid to the dingbat ever since.
Professor that is my excuse for not doing my homework. (don't ya think its better than "the dog ate it"?) :D
But I will read like mad to catch up this week. Karen, thank you very much for these discussions. They encourage me to focus and finish what I start.
