Well... umm.. I'm not done with it yet.. but I should be within the next 2 days... will probably knock it out during my lunch hours.

I am curious on how this story is going to wrap up.. and just what is going to happen.. will one in the group jump.. or will they continue to meet ever once in a while.. will they all go their separate ways.

I wont be back into this particular post till I'm done reading.. dont want to spoil it.

The open-ended conclusion sometimes bothers me in a book, but it really didn't here. Not an ending for this IS an ending--that life will go on for each of them now, instead of ending! I thought the ending was ery upbeat and hopeful. Nothing in their lives had changed, only their attitudes. And that's all we really have under our control, isn't it? Our attitudes and our actions. I liked the ending. It's all implied; it's whatever you'd like it to be. I think they will continue to check in with each other periodically, but they'll get on with it and slowly move away from needing each other.

I really didnt know what to expect for an ending in this book. An intervention by Jess, especially surprised me. But I could understand.. she was grabbing at something.. someway that would help all of them.. and that is what she said.. we need your help... or something close to that. So I think that was a good way for Bruce to go with it.

Maureen was definitely the one who came out the best in all of this.. a part time job.. even though it wasnt helping her out financially.. but it probably helped her in so many other ways that the monetary bit was of no consideration for her. She finally became more of a whole person.. found more of herself.

I wasnt too sure about how Martin was actually fairing .. or his conclusion to everything. That went by me. I did get a chuckle out of his comment when reminiscing about the intervention and calling it Jess's .. Jerry Springer Show.

JJ did seem to come to an understanding with his friends and with himself more importantly.

Of all of them.. I was very happy for Jess and the reconnection or I should say understanding that she and her mother made again. I dont think there is anything more important than that bond between a mother and daughter.

I did have an idea go through my head as I was reading it that somehow Jess was going to end up with NoDog and that they would open a store in that place he was staying since it had been one anyway.. lol
