Thanks, Donna. Moviedan always seems to find good sources so this has the ring of fact. No commentaries... :( The extras sound like the best of the featurettes we've seen all pulled together with one or two additions. I can't wait for it to get released.

Thanks very much, Donna! Yes, moviedan seems to be very reliable.
April 1st can't come soon enough.

Thanks for the info Donna and MovieDan.

I'm loving the sound of the 2 Disc Special edition. Do you have any idea if the specs are for Region 1, 2 or both?

Thanks again.

Swag - February 18, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
Thanks for posting! I'm anxiously awaiting the DVD, but I'm disappointed not to see any commentaries. :(

herestoyou - February 18, 2008 10:16 PM (GMT)
Yes, MDan is pretty reliable----I would like some commentary, too---and no outtakes? I know it's a serious film, but there must have been some funny goofs----but then, maybe not.......Can't wait until April either way! :)

Moviefone Unscripted was very good so it will be fun for people who buy the DVD to see that.

I must admit that I am disappointed that is seems the features are the same on the regular DVD and the HD DVD. Except for the picture quality and sound quality they seem to have the exact same features. :(

No, HD DVD's will not play in regualr DVD players, but regular DVD's will play in the HD DVD player. The HD DVD players will *upconvert* the regular DVD and it will look better.

I guess for those of us who don't have an HD DVD and won't be getting one any time soon, that's a good thing. ;) Everyone gets the same thing. :)

Now that Toshiba has announced they are stopping production and pulling their HD DVD machines, that will mean Sweeney Todd will be on Blu-Ray? Hope so!

THese 2 different sites have some info. and possible artwork/ Thanks to smallville1287 & filmbuff2 at imdb for these links:

This looks the closest as to what the covers may look like I think:

Here's another one::

I think it's still in the works, but these sure are lovely!

FANtasticJD - February 20, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
Donna, I think the covers on your first link are the real ones. They have the front and back for both the 1 and 2 disc versions as well as the cardboard sleeve design. It all looks smashing! The details of the extras as shown on the back covers show that the first disc includes footage from recording sessions and rehearsals! I've been hoping for that.

Karen - February 20, 2008 04:36 AM (GMT)
Thanks Donna, these look great!

herestoyou - February 20, 2008 04:44 AM (GMT)
I hope they're real, but what's the one that has the frame of razors with nothing in the frame for? That's the only thing that puzzled me........

Thanks Donna. Loving the first one. :thumbsup

I thought that too, and somebody on that site said they had already ordered theirs and it is a special version that comes in a metal case. There was an enquiry as to where he ordered it, but he hasn't replied.

I don't know if this is acurate, as it is the only site I have found with a date, but they have the UK release date for the dvd as 19th May. As we were over a month behind the US getting the movie in the cinema, it sounds about right to me.
