Title: Depp,Law, Farrell to finish Parnassus?
Description: AICN & others

Here's the latest according to AICN:

AICN EXCLUSIVE! We Know Who’s Paying Tribute To Heath Ledger In DR. PARNASSUS Now!

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

Have I mentioned how much I love this idea? Because I do. I think it’s beautiful that the script loaned itself to this sort of idea, that we’re going to see Heath Ledger’s work in Terry Gilliam’s new film, and that we’re also going to see three very interesting actors step up to offer interpretations of him as a way of paying one final tribute to this actor whose career was cut so sadly short.

We’ve heard rumors about who might be stepping in, but now we’ve got the names verified. Count on it.

JOHNNY DEPP.

JUDE LAW.

COLIN FARRELL.

Nice choices, Gilliam. Can’t wait to see what happens inside the IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS, and I’d love to get a look at the script they’re going to use as they start this next stretch of shooting on the film.

-Donna-Could this be why PE filming has been delayed slightly?

Ellen - February 16, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
I like the sound of those names. Hope it happens.

What an awesome thing if it comes to be. :crossfingers

Thanks Donna for the link to this.

Please don't forget that AICN is an unmoderated web site and the language is definitely NOT PG-13.

shadowdog - February 16, 2008 05:55 AM (GMT)
Not sure what to make of this. Sounds a little weird to me. And don't forget, Gilliam tends to be a little off the wall.

THanks Holly for the warning---yes, check that site but be forewarned. The Cinematical site has a nice write up, too.

I agree, but I think the 3 actors, if this turned out to be true, are doing it in honor of Heath Ledger and wanted to see his film finished.

That is VERY cool! I truly home it happens!! :thumbsup

Karen - February 16, 2008 02:08 PM (GMT)
Thanks Donna for the heads up on this latest rumor, I just checked both Hollywood Reporter and Variety for the last two days and they aren't reporting a thing. I guess this really is a time will tell situation.

deppfan4ever - February 16, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
I'm for Johnny and Jude but not Colin. That man makes my skin crawl. But I hope that this comes true. It will be interesting.

Variety now has picked this up, but still only quote AICN: Nice Johnny pic here:

Thanks Donna...everyone is still quoting AICN.

I so hope this doesn't happen.

SavvyAngelUK - February 18, 2008 08:52 AM (GMT)
Mmmmm interesting. Not too sure what I think of this. I think its a nice idea as a tribute to Heath and therefore his final work will still be able to be seen, but.............I don't know, cant quite put my finger on why Im not liking the idea as well.

ETA: here is a link to Yahoo with the same story but apparently been confirmed by Jude Law's spokesperson

At first when I read the first rumors of this I thought it was an interesting idea. Now I'm with you Karen. I'm hopping this won't happen. I wish he'd concentrate on his own projects.

lola - February 18, 2008 05:10 PM (GMT)
I know a few of you don't want this to happen, but as a fan of Heath's as well as Johnny's, I'm glad this film will be finished. I think it's awesome that these great actors are willing to step up and do this in his memory. And with three actors sharing the workload, I doubt it will derail any of Johnny's other projects.

Personally, I'd love for Johnny to show up in Vancouver! :D
I could be there everyday waiting for his autograph! Or a little chit-chat!

Ey there!
I just saw this one, maybe it's no need to post it (if it is, please remove).
I don't know now if it's real or that this is just a Time Will Tell
It's Dutch but there is nothing new, just about the mirror and that stuff, I'm sorry I don't have time now to translate but as I said, there's nothing really new, I like the photo's

on this link there is a short piece and a "smile"photo =P

I like Dutch photo selection. Beautiful. Thanks for posting the page. :)

deppfan4ever - February 18, 2008 07:07 PM (GMT)
Found this on People.com just now. Jude's people I guess are confirming that all three are going to finish it. Personally I will wait on confirmation from Johnny's people. Time will tell.

FANtasticJD - February 18, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
I think the fact that the story has been out there for a few days without being denied is pretty good proof that it's reliable. There's one gossip site that is reporting that the three actors will donate their fees in honor of Ledger.

http://www.laineygossip.com/Heath_Ledgers_...arrell_and.aspx

herestoyou - February 18, 2008 11:09 PM (GMT)
Yes, since Jude Law's people have confirmed it, it sounds like it could happen. I can see where the 3 would donate their fees to charity. I think it's rather nice of Johnny and the others to step in and try to save the film, even though I'm not a huge fan of Gilliam. I like that they would do it in honor of HLedger.

-Donna

SavvyPeppers - February 18, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
Today's "Inside Edition" is confirming this in the first 10 minutes. They show Naomi Watts reacting to a tribute video for Heath and then mention the 3 actors who will be filling in for the role. Again, who really knows what the truth is?!

herestoyou - February 18, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
Maybe Johnny will be asked this at the Oscars?

~Donna

Karen - February 18, 2008 11:50 PM (GMT)
I do wish we'd get something directly from Johnny's people. Not this " he said, they said" kind of thing. Today's a holiday so maybe something official will be coming tomorrow?

SavvyPeppers - February 19, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)
E! News is reporting this as well during the 1st 5 minutes. They site people.com as the source for the story.

jeppody - February 19, 2008 12:46 AM (GMT)
I have just seen it on UKs BBC3s 60 Second News program. They just mentioned that the three will be filming. Nothing more.

Parlez - February 19, 2008 01:10 AM (GMT)
Well, if it's not true, the publicists for Johnny and for Colin better get on the stick and deny it pretty soon.
The whole thing could backfire rather badly if it's now all over the internet and being reported by the TV news media, etc., and turns out to be a false rumor.
But I hope it's true! :crossfingers

herestoyou - February 19, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
Thanks SPeppers for the E! alert---here's a link to their online story---still sounds like it's not completely confirmed:

http://www.eonline.com/news/article/index....=rss_topstories

Here's just the excerpt that I take as it's not a complete done deal yet?

The BBC quoted a spokesperson for Law confirming the actors' participation, "subject to negotiations."

No further details were immediately available. There was no further comment Monday from the actors or filmmakers.

Hopefully we'll get definite confirmation either way soon.......

-Donna

deppfan4ever - February 19, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
I got this from the BBC. According to a rep it is "subject to negotiation". So it sounds like it isn't quite concrete yet.

Didn't see the other BBC posting until after I posted this. Sorry for the second posting.

If he comes to film in Vancouver, I'm going to DIE! :joy

Swag - February 19, 2008 03:00 PM (GMT)
Well it was just announced on KTLA new (here in L.A.) this morning. Sounds a little more concrete to me.

Depputante - February 20, 2008 08:12 AM (GMT)
Question:

1) Can a person phone the studio and ask about a certain actor???
(well I'm sure I CAN, but I mean is it OK ?? )

2) At a Studio, what is a "Buildings used as Office and Shop areas" mean?

Karen - February 20, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
I don't ever reccomend phoning a studio to ask about any star. They aren't really amused by it and aren't allowed to give out the information that any "fan" or stalker would be looking for. Security is tight and they never know who they are talking to. And most people who answer phones in studios are NOT the people with the information. They tell you what they've been told to say. Trust me on this.

That means exactly what it says. A building that's an office and shop area. More than likely a production office area.

MissCaptainWeird - February 20, 2008 01:26 PM (GMT)
I heard yesterday on the radio here that all three are confirmed to finish the project.

As for donating their fees, they will be doing the movie for free more or less right?

Depputante - February 20, 2008 04:25 PM (GMT)
ImDb is showing 4 London locations, and one Canada location.
