Thanks for a fun read, Amy, but I doubt this is true. The article makes it sound like no one really has seen him but everyone has heard rumors about someone else seeing him. He was in Paris (12 hours behind Auckland) the evening of Thursday, Jan. 17, if the credible-sounding reports of the Burton/Nicholson dinner are true. This article reports that he was swimming in NZ the evening of the 17th. That's some trick since flights between the two places can take nearly a full day! Even taking in the time change, that's stretching the bounds of physics. I think it was a bit of wishful thinking / creative marketing on some folks' part. Mind you, after all the ST promotion he's been doing, I'll bet he'd love a bit of the summertime swimming NZ could offer right about now!
