Mark Salisbury has written a couple of books about Tim Burton, he has a very interesting writing style. What do you think about his style of writing? They way he tells the tale of Sweeney Todd? How do you feel about the way he unfolded the story?

He is very methodical in his writing style but it reads so smoothly I didn't really even notice it until you asked, Karen. Stealthy organization-sign of a good writer in my book! Yeah, I like how he laid the story out. Painted a lovely picture of the conception and birth of Sweeney Todd, from how Tim loved the story to knowing Johnny and Helena were the ones for the roles and the musical and filming process. Great book through and through.

I agree that he organizes his information in a format that is a quick read. I enjoy the way he mixes in the quotes with background information and of course the photos are great. I think I will need to add his book on TB to my list of books to read. :) Anne r

I think he did a wonderful job of describing just how all of it came together to create such a great movie. For those of us who wanted to know almost every single detail, it was there and if you knew nothing about the story it gave you all the information you needed to know.
And even though I've read through it twice, I find myself not only going back to look at the pictures but to also read different sections.

I have it sitting on the coffee table and everyone picks it up and flips through it!

I can't add anything to what's been said. I loved the layout, the thick paper and just stunning photos. It was very easy to read and follow---the brief background on the whole STodd story was a nice touch. Loved the set/costume sketches interspersed with the the still photos. What's nice about a book like this, too, is being able to see details in sets, etc. that go by so quickly while viewing the film.

I liked the way he sectioned the book and gave each character/actor their own little chapter, and included quite a lot of quotes from the major players.

I, too, loved the way he organized things, which made it a very quick and interesting read. Like some of you have already pointed out, great layering of the making of information with stories and quotes. It was comprehensive while never becoming too dry.
