At the moment, this is an unconfirmed rumor......but if it turns out to be true, I LIKE IT!

Tim Burton welcomes baby girl: Indiana Rose
On Saturday actress Helena Bonham Carter has given birth to a daughter. The baby girl is the second child of the actress and director Tim Burton.

"They are absolutely delighted they have a daughter," the actress's rep, Karon Maskill, tells. "It's a lovely Christmas present for the family."

The new born baby girl has a pretty name Indiana Rose Burton, a name that tells a lot.

The couple revealed the pregnancy in August, and here it comes the big surprise just in time for Christmas.

Helena Bonham Carter began this relationship in October 2001, with Tim Burton, whom she met while filming Planet of the Apes, and she has appeared in all of his subsequent films. They live in adjoining houses with a hallway that connects the two homes, they have a son, Billy Ray Burton, born on October 4, 2003, and a daughter, Indiana Rose Burton born on December 15, 2007 in London.

The actress and the director were nominated for Golden Globe awards for Sweeney Todd – she for best actress, he for best director.

Where are the Burtons getting these names from?

JohnnyDeppLover - December 17, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)
Aw Indiana Rose is a beautiful name, maybe Johnny gave some advice for the name I mean, I can see the connection between the name Lily-Rose and Indiana Rose :D

It's a lovely name to be sure, but is it a name 'that tells a lot'.
I get the connection to Johnny with Rose, but what about Indiana? Is there some link between Tim and/or Helena and the great state of Indiana, or the Native American Indians?? Or maybe it's a family name on either Tim's or Helena's side...?
Not that it matters really ~ it's unique and very pretty!

I'm kind of expecting more British names.
Even Billy's name is kind of American...sounds like a cowboy!
I understand William, but Billy ?

Now Indiana ? A beautiful name, sure. But it's got a   from me.

Well, Billy's a nickname for William, so I understand that...
But yeah, assuming the rumor is true, I'm wondering where Indiana's coming from...

Ah well. It is lovely I suppose.

Weeelll, I guess we aren't talking about the most conventional couple in the world, so I'm not so surprised that they didn't name her Susan Marie. Indiana Rose is indeed a beautiful name - but - fast forward 30 years and imagine coming face-to-face with a doctor, lawyer or accountant named Indiana! I don't know, maybe I'm an old fuddy-duddy, but . . .

I think it 's a lovely name, and I'm sure has some significance to Helena/Tim. I can think of other celebrity's that have named their kids more bizarre names ie.e Apple I think Indiana Rose sounds very nice together......maybe one day we'll find out the story :)

Oh I really like the name. I'm really into these special names as long as they make sense at some point. If you just call your kid like a fruit it's unique, but it definitely is weird, too! *lol* (No offence btw, but I think people really could do better when picking the names for their kids). However Indiana Rose really sounds very beautiful and is a unique name too. So if this actually is the name they chose for their daughter I think they made a good choice! :)

I couldn't help but wonder when I heard the name if the "Rose" part was in honor of Johnny and his daughter Lily Rose.

Karen, I was thinking the same thing last night. Especially since the baby was conceived around the time that Lily-Rose was very sick (am I right about that?). I think that it's a lovely name and I'm not surprised that Johnny is the god-father.
