Judge Turpin's character is really that of a nasty old greedy man. How do you think Alan Rickman will portray him? What do you think of the Judge and what happens to him?

I think Alan Rickman will be awesome as the Judge during the duet with JD-his deep baritone voice (with assistance of the computer) will present the lyrics of Pretty Woman in such a manner to show his lust for Johanna so that the audience will have conflicting emotions of disgust for the Judge and sympathy yet revulsion for the deed that ST is attempting to accomplish. In addition Rickman's materful skills will enable him to present a unique portrayal of an aged male preening for a romatic encounter with a younger female while in Todd's barber chair. I feel that the Judge's fate is fair- it also leads the audience to to the assumption that Todd's maniacal actions will end but of course-complications arise.

I think Rickman is a very good choice for the Judge as I think Rickman can certainly play that off the wall kind of evilness that the character must have. You have to really dispise the judge, you can't find any kindness or mercy from him.
