I felt there was more involved with the SD/KO' friendship than any of the others, when I first read it. The others just seemed more periferal (sp). I feel undoubtedly that O'Keefe hung around with Dangerfield, hoping that some of his charm and 'winning ways with the ladies' might rub off on him. This obviously doesn't serve him too kindly, as not only does he not succeed in getting lucky, but Sebastian sponges off him mercilessly. So prehaps it's more a case that SD needs O'K more than the other way round! So Ken cuts his losses and moves away and rightly so!
I have been re-reading about some of the other male characters, so may prehaps come back to them.

Oh please do! All of the guys in TGM and their interaction with each other and SD is pretty interesting. And let's don't forget there's always SD, Parnell, MacDoon and the Kangaroo.

Also, I think the fact that they are both American would naturally draw them to each other.
