Title: Mira Nair video interview (Shantaram mention)

It's a really nice interview I think :) It's Mira Nair, Tabu, Irfan Khan and the writer of the Namesake. There's a short mention of Johnny and Shantaram somewhere in the middle of the clip. Check it out:

Thanks so much for the link to her interview with David Poland. Namesake is a very good film and it deserves some award recognition.

Thanks for the link to the interview. That was interesting hearing her talk about her "vision" for films and what projects she chooses. Hoping that she will get her chance with Shantaram.

Thanks for the video Roz. I missed that on my 'active posts' link.

This might be from the same day, so I'll post this here.
It's part of a very long interview with Mira.
Not much new, but a little more insight.

Mira can't wait to start Shantaram

If you thought the Hollywood writers' strike has given filmmaker Mira Nair any respite from her round the clock schedule, think again.

"Shantaram is very much on our mind, though we cannot start in February as per the schedule," she said, in a chat soon after a 2-hour event organised by The New York Times for the DVD launch of The Namesake [Images], her highest grossing film in North America.

A Johnny Depp [Images] vehicle, Shantaram is a crime and adventure drama set in India, Afghanistan and Germany [Images] -- "Don't forget it also has a lot of spirituality," Nair points out -- and was scripted and ready to go, starting with a schedule in Mumbai from February next.
