Karen - October 28, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
Let's have some fun and kick around some names for the cast! Any Dark Shadows character is fair game.

Who would you like to see in the various roles??

amp - October 28, 2007 01:54 PM (GMT)
Elizabeth Collins Stoddard - Meryl Streep

Willie Loomis - Steve Buscemi

Jason McGuire - Brendan Gleason

Burke Devlin - George Clooney

Victoria Winters - Katie Holmes

Fred Evans- Brian Cox

Maggy/Josette - Rachel McAdams

Angelique - Emily Blunt

Casting is no easy task! I try to think outside the box.

Thought of a few more:

Trask - Edward Norton

Quentin Collins - Aidan Quinn

Carolyn Stoddard - Reese Witherspoon

Arnelle, that's an all star cast you put together--------need to think on this one.

Elizabeth Stoddard-Glenn Close?(just love her in the Damages show)

Steve Buscemi for Willie-----love it!

Changing my mind about Emily Blunt as Angelique--
I want some one a bit older...How about Amanda Peet?

and can we find a way to throw in Tom Hulce and Richard E. Grant somewhere?

Glad you agree, Donna! He wouldn't even need any make-up!

It's a darn shame that Sharon Stone is too "old" eeeeeeeeeeeek for Angelique!

Karen - October 28, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
How about Tom Hollander for Roger Collins????

BINGO!

Keira Knightley for Maggie
Orlando Bloom for Quentin
Kevin McNally for Maggie's dad
Geoffrey Rush-Jason
Marty Kebbla(sp?)-Willie
Where can I put Bill Nighy?

Wait---haven't we seen this film before  (Sorry, couldn't resist mates---I'm still seriously thinking here..........)

LOL I know that movie too ....here's another thought..

Quentin Collins = Jack Davenport.

amp - October 29, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
Tom Hollander, Bill Nighy and Jack Davenport would be okay with me.

I'm always trying to think creatively when I "cast a film". lol
I did think of Sharon Stone right off and it is a shame she's too "old".
Also, Oliver Platt would make a good Stokes.

Oliver Platt! I hadn't thought of him.

It's the Grayson Hall part that has me stumped...who could play Dr. Hoffman??

Wait, I know she's done AW with Johnny, but what about Charlize Theron for Angelique??

They do look like sisters, don't they?

She'd have a chance play beautiful again, (been doing all those ugly/plain roles lately) and bitchy evil.

I had also thought of Emma Thompson for Dr. Hoffman.

They do! :)

I just love Angelique!

Wow-Charlize for Angelique would definitely fit the look. I like Emma Thompson for the doctor, too. I'm stumped---everyone has come up with great ideas, I don't think I can top any of them...........What about Victoria Winters? I didn't quite care for the actress in that role as she seems very "wooden"----does she ever show any emotion?

I chose Katie Holmes. Watch her in Pieces of April and you may see something in her that would breathe new life into that "governess" Vicky!

Oh, I could also see Natalie Portman as Maggy/Josette.
