Description: The beat goes on

Thanks to JohnnyLubber for this pic of Bombay at night
Lin returns from war to find life pretty much as he left in in Bombay. The beat goes on. Most everyone was still at Leopold's.......Karla was back. But Madame Zhou was a broken woman and Abdul Ghani turned out to be not quite the person Lin thought he was.
What did you think was going on with Sapna?
I'm interested in y'all's thoughts about this......remember there are no right or wrong answers.......this is just an opinion poll. LOL

Johnnylubber, were you standing on the bus to take the photo?
Same question for the Leopolds photo!
I'm really enjoying your photos.
Ithought Sapna was the police. :shistle

I love this picture of Bombay at night!
And I really didn't think there ever was an actual 'Sapna', only the idea of him. :shistle

Boy, does that picture ever bring back memories!!! There's nothing quite like Bombay By Night! Excellent shot, Johnnylubber! :thumbsup
While some things had definitely changed in Bombay, like the mafia wars and the changes in Khader's crime network, the mainstream of life there was about the same, at least as far Lin's expat friends were concerned. Maybe that's the way it is in all big cities ~ the daily grind and routine of living doesn't ever really change very much. Gigantic, life changing events can happen to a person and yet 'the beat goes on' just like before.
Sapna? I don't know. That remains a mystery to me. For a while I thought it was Karla, which just goes to show how over-the-top my imagination can get sometimes! (well, she was there in the highrise when they noticed the name painted on the wall...and she was hiding out in Goa for some reason...and, yaar, it was a woman's name, now wasn't it? lol!)

I know...I thought the same thing...Karla.

I defintitely agree with this, and maybe it was the police, a way to control the people.
I don't have time to find the question, or if I even really remember seeing it, but one scene they can leave out for me is the mob violence after car accidents. Then again, it may serve to show the level of police apathy and corruption.
