Title: Going to the premiere or Red Carpet?

Karen - May 14, 2007 10:52 PM (GMT)
While we can't organize a JDR meet up, if any of you are going to the event and want to meet with others... maybe post your interest here and then use the PM or email system within JDR to contact people, and please remember you are sharing private info on a very public and globally read forum. I know many of you have already stated on line that you are going.

As always I urge you to use caution when exchanging personal info. Meet in a public place and never give out info regarding where you are staying, etc. Also, if you are a minor, I ask that you do NOT attempt to contact any adult as it puts them in an awkward position.

Have a great time!!

I'll be waiting alongside the red carpet this Saturday at Disneyland and would really love to meet up with some JDR members. If anyone is interested in meeting please PM, or e-mail me by Thursday as I will not have access to a computer Friday thru the following Sunday. I will also be at the marathon and midnight show at the El Capitan if anyone is interested in meeting up there. :thanks

Im so excited for those that are going. I hope some JDR members do get to meet up and relying on you guys to share your stories. ;)

A note of caution on the Disney premiere ...

Posted by Terry on Wednesday, 16 May 2007, at 11:09 a.m., in response to Premiere, posted by fine on Tuesday, 15 May 2007, at 4:05 a.m.

Fans, please spread the word.

There is a rumour that the Disneyland May 19th premiere will be different than in previous years. Security will be tighter (a reaction to the surging crowds of last year). I have been told that on the red carpet, no one is to stop for photos or to sign autographs.

Now this is pure speculation on my part, but I imagine there could be baracades or ropes to keep the fans well back from the red carpet, like they do at the academy awards. In which case this will be a different (and perhaps lesser, in my opinion) experience for fans than in the pass.

I don't know if this informaiton is 'out there' or if Disney is letting people know these kind of details. I'm not even sure if they are true. I just know a lot of people are planning to travel very far to get to the park that day, and I think it's only right they know what to (possibly) expect.

Sparrowette - May 16, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
Say it's not so. Maybe this should be posted under rumors? I am trying not to get upset or worried about this. Getting up at 1:30 AM to get there early to get in line and then standing for 16 - 17 hours in the hot sun waiting and not being able to even get a photo with Johnny would be very devastating for me and many many other fans. I hope this is not true. Last year was very orderly and there were no problems with the crowd so we will have to wait and see.

Appreciate the heads up though

We have parts of the Disney generated letter that is going out to Premiere ticket buyers posted here on JDR, it was posted 3 days ago. Please do remember to check the board for info previously posted before adding another post.

People attending the premiere have reported receiving red envelopes from Disney with their premiere information.

The packet of information includes a parking pass and a two-page letter of "reminders."

Here's a few of the more important points:

All tickets must be picked up by 7:30 p.m.

You will be part of the colorful parade of Guests and celebrities walking the red carpet. Since this event will be covered by media from around the world, you'll want to flash your biggest smile for all the cameras!

You are welcome to take candid pictures along the red carpet and at the pre-screening Pirates party. However, due to time contstraints, and for the safety, comfort and security of the stars and Guests alike, you are not permitted to ask celebrities to sign autographs or pose for individual pictures. We ask that everyone continues walking down the red carpet and proceeds directly to the Frontierland entrace and into the party. There will be no standing on the red carpet.

Absolutely no video cameras of any kind will be permitted into the event!

The dress code for the evening is "Pirate-wear" -- feel free to break out your bandanas and eye patches! However, for everyone's safety and scurity, no real swords, guns, knives, or weapons of any kind will be allowed in the Park. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking. Also, the movie will be shown outdoors, on the water's edge, and it will get cold when the sun sets -- we suggested that you wear layers and definitely bring a jacket.
The park will remain open until 1 a.m. exclusively for premiere Guests.
----------------

This is directly from Disney and is, as I said, being sent to those who bought tickets to the Premiere. Disney circulated the same request about not asking for autographs etc last year. And If someone had something in their hands, they did the best that they could. Who knows how strict they will be this year regarding this rule. But be prepared.

This is not a rumor, as as you will see from my response above, this same info was posted here on the 13th. And again, the same *no request for pics and autographs* went out last year and the stars all ignored it. This is nothing new. So hang on...see what happens. There were issues last year with crowds and time as the stars, esp Johnny spent a lot of time working the red carpet. I will see what I can find out about how strict they will be about this rule. Last year if you had something in your hands, and a celeb went by, they tried to sign it. So hang on...let's see. There will be thousands and thousands of people and Disney will try and keep it moving along in an orderly manner. This event is much "bigger" than last year...

Also, please remember that IF anyone goes to this event that nothing is guaranteed you. Not that any one cast member will be there or that they will sign autographs or pose for pictures. No one has ever promised or guaranteed that. All they promise is that you can stand in a spot on the red carpet entrance area and see the cast members walk in. That's it.

But hang on...let me see what all I can find out for y'all. ;)

Thank You Karen- We will wait and see what happens :(

Oooppss Sorry about that. I saw the letter you posted, but interpreted it as instructions to those who bought tickets to the premiere and were walking the red carpet not to ask for photos or autographs of the stars also walking the redcarpet. Maybe that is what Terry was reading and got confused about. One can only hope for those standing on the red carpet. woohoo

Karen - May 17, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
Those are the instructions for those attending the premiere as guests. I think it mirrors the same request that Disney made last year to those who stood on the red carpet. They were told not to ask for pics or autographs and we know the cast members signed and posed anyway. I referenced this year's premiere guest "guidelines" as I think they will again ask that no one ask for autographs and pics.

Karen - May 19, 2007 01:03 PM (GMT)
OK, the "official word" that I've been told is that they are sticking with the "no requests for pics or autographs" for everyone...as they have done for the last 2 premieres.

And we know what happened to that theory in reality. LOL So, I'd have stuff in my hand and a pen and see what happens.....

My same thought, that's right . Johnny is a sweetheart when it comes to his fans , and Orlando is very sweet and grateful to his fans too, so don't worry about it too much mates. Have fun. ;) :snoopy
