w- BBC1 has commissioned a TV series from me. A great long period to accommodate two films in the summer ( The Allotment and Pirates of the Caribbean III ) and some decent time to prepare so hopefully six episodes of the Omid Djalili Show (stand-up and sketches like old maestro Dave Allen) will be on your screens sometime next summer. Looking for:

Photo double for one of the lead principle actors, will end playing his identical twin.

Middle Eastern, 5'6 50 coat, 44 waist, balding or really shaved hair, 40 or 50 years age estimates, need to go to an interview tomorrow (9/05) (can be any other nationality just as long as they are a dark male.) Will end being a great gig!

Here's today's news, sorry if there are any spelling errors with the character names......


1st unit shooting for the Pirate Kingdom continues Thursday with Teague (Keith Richards) and his entourage.

Also there is 2nd unit shooting in San Pedro today (9/6) , Friday and Saturday... tentative with 14 core pirates, world pirates and the dead EITC and Villanueva and his entourage.

Friday shooting will be also be Teague, Amon Bell Leu (sp?)and the henchmen and their entourages.


Monday will be the henchmen, Captain Sao Feng, Mr. Chig (sp?) and their entourage.

Tuesday will henchmen, Sabaje (sp?), Jabar (sp?) and their entourages.

For Friday, world pirates, old pirates and fisherman for 1st unit.

The casting pirate hotline this afternoon tells us that they are apparently still stuck on a scene they've been working on for a few days.



But that they expect to call up the "Entourages" and also should be calling up the "World Pirates" to work in Palmdale to work with the EITC guys.



That's it from the casting hotline, hopefully I will get something from my Burbank sources later today for us!

This is what's been posted this am on the Pirate Casting Hotline...



That the Palmdale shoot will now begin on Monday and run for the rest of Sept and Oct. They should shoot Monday thru Friday thru Oct. Hoping that there will not be any weekend filming, none scheduled so far.



They are calling 15-17 World Pirates and some Asian pirates for work starting next week. At that point the message lists the working actors' names and I feel that's a gross breech of their personal privacy and safety to repost their names here. All we care about knowing is that there is shooting going on with large numbers of pirate casts.



All core pirates will be needed.



They will also need about 20 EITC people and only certain ones at that. They will be notified.



Beckett's crew is slated to shoot towards the end of the schedule.



Housing needs were discussed, and there were some union rates mentioned, but it's not any concern of ours about who gets paid housing and who does not. So there's no need to share that either. LOL

Again, I hope to get more info from my sources at Burbank today too.

From the POTC hotline, EITC cast will not be working in Palmdale on Monday, perhaps Tuesday, but more info will be coming. Core pirates will be filming on Monday in Palmdale, World pirates are on, but "iffy"-- more info will follow.

According to the pirate casting hotline it looks like filming start day for Palmdale is now Wed. as there is no background in Palmdale as yet...but that could change as well...

Things in Palmdale are a bit crazed and things have been changing faster than I can get the changes posted. groan As of right now the core pirates and Asian pirates won't be used for 2 -3 weeks.



The ship seems to be stuck at a 30% angle and not ready to go. Background problems still need to be worked out.

EITC, World pirates and Asian pirates who have been fitted but only used once or not at all should shoot and will be notified.

WOW..it's crazy out there in Palmdale and things are changing from minute to minute, literally!



Anyone filming today will be recalled til the middle of next week...so far.



The Dutchman should be in for filming Thur, Fr, Mon and Tues.



The casting people are urging everyone to take other jobs if they are offered, as things now as they are in contstant flux right now.

According to the casting hotline, they are still filming the scene they've been working on with the same EITC and Asian pirates and some stand ins.



They are looking to get started on the Dutchman scene this coming Thursday and filming of it could run through Tues of next week.



They are casting thin, thin men with beards and long hair and women with natural hair color and very pale skin.



They look to cast more people at the end of October.

While they are still looking to cast new people in the movie they want to reassure those actors who have already been fitted for costumes that they will still work, they are not being replaced....they need MORE people!



It looks as if the Dutchman shooting will happen on Thursday (28th) and will possibly recall those who are working today for tomorrow.



The 14 core pirates will be getting phone calls about their needed scuba training. That will happen in Oct.

They are asking everyone (the extras) not to panic. POTC 3 is shooting. Shooting has been going on and will be going on as scheduled with the Asian Pirates and EITC. Some casting for additional people will go on later this month for new people, but anyone already fitted, will be working at some point.

The casting hotline has been updated to tell us that basically there is nothing new to report. LOL Filming continues, core pirates will work on the 10th. There is nothing new really to report, she explains that there are always schedule changes in the movie business, that's normal, there are "no issues" but there is a lot to shoot in a short period of time.



She also reconfirms that they are casting new and unseen before pirates as there is a new scene to be filmed at the end of November that can't use anyone they've used before. All new faces. So to speak.

There has been some discussion about wanting to try and get a role for P3 from this last casting call and I know that some who don't live nearby have done it in the past. But this time, unless you can get yourself here in less than 24 hours and can give them a valid local address then they won't consider you for this call.



Here's what the updated website says:



You may not be considered for extra roles when you live in other cities or countries. You must live locally because we usually only give you one day notice before you have to report to work or to a costume fitting.

Core pirates still filming Oct 10.



This is for a very large new scene filming at the end of Nov.



On Sunday, Oct 15 between 10am and 3 pm. Rain or shine.



IF you have not submitted before. New faces, unless your look has changed a lot...All ethnicities, ages etc., pirates and wenches, all " extreme character" types, the more extreme the better. Missing limbs, eyes, etc, beards, long hair, serial killer types. All in the extreme. Women with natural hair color, no highlights, natural breasts, no artificial nails. Seeking ages 18 -100, no children are needed at this time. SAG members are not required to attend, but are welcome this is not a paid interview.



This will be at their Sherman Oaks casting office. 13731 Ventura Blvd. 2nd Floor DO NOT CALL THEIR OFFICE. Do not bring children with you.



Show up, please bring these items with you... bring a pen and pencil, color shapshot or Polaroid no larger than 3X5. NO HEADSHOTS. Color photos can be taken there for $2. (please bring exact change.) Bring change for parking meters. Note that this is not an audition. Bring contact info and for the men (no wigs hats or makeup) they need measurements for coat, shirt, pant and shoes. For the women they need dress size, bust, waist, hip and shoe measurements.



If you can't make the Sunday the 15th, you can bring the above info Monday - Friday from 11am - 2pm every week until the end of Nov. HOWEVER the earlier you get the info to them the better as costume fittings being the last week of Oct.
