Disney's asked me to let you all know that there are two (2) events at the El Capitan in LA for the opening day.

And that there are some tickets available for the AWEsome POTC Marathon. But hurry!

1) ** The POTC Marathon, showing POTC 1, 2 AND 3 in order, beginning at noon on May 24 tickets are available ONLY BY TELEPHONE at this number: 818 - 845- 3110 and be sure to mention you read it on JDR! You won't find this info on their website.
This event includes, snacks, beverages, a boxed lunch, icecream soda, etc and POTC goodies. The AWE showing is over at approximately 10pm and is NOT the midnight show. Savvy?


2) **The POTC-AWE midnight show is completely sold out.

Karen, I can't thank you enough for posting the information about the marathon here. If it weren't for you and :jdr I probably would never have known about it, let alone be able to get the seats I did. So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I also got tickets to the midnight show, so it will be a long day at the theatre for me but I know I will enjoy every minute of it. I'm so excited, I can't wait for the 24th! woohoo

You're welcome Theresa! Have a great time and bring a pillow! Those seats at the El Cap could be uncomfortable after about 10 hours....lol

Yes, many thanks to Karen for getting us in on this event before the main public! Also, Karen did they say that AWE would START at 10pm or END about 10pm? When I first made my reservation, she said that AWE would end around 10pm.

Also, as for the seats---------maybe bring a comfy Capt. Jack throw blanket or beach towel to help keep you comfy and warm. I know I freeze in that theater, so be prepared to bring at least a sweater or light jacket---------I'm still looking for the beach towel or throw! :)

Yes, AWE will be over at approximately 10pm. They don't want it confused with the midnight show (as that's sold out).

OMG! Karen! I.....I......I.....BOUGHT TICKETS FOR THE MARATHON! You don't know how excited I am...I didn't think I would, but ya know, it's only going to happen once in my lifetime I think! LOL woohoo :jdr Yay for JDR! :D :D

If it weren't for you I would never have known about this very special event either! I am so looking forward to it. We will also be seeing the film on 5/28 at the El Cap then I will be getting tickets for the Sherman Oaks Galleria because it is closer to my home. Can't wait!

Hi, Karen. Thank you so much for all of the information. I would never have known about the Marathon if it weren't for you!! I am traveling from New Jersey to sit by the red carpet at the premiere on May 19. I was planning to leave on Wednesay. However, when I saw your notice about the Marathon on 4/13, I decided to extend my stay to Saturday. Now I will be seeing it with about 10 friends from all over the country. Thank you, Karen, you have made my CA vacation even more magical!!! I have never been to the El Capitan, so this should be so exciting.

Will you also be attending either the POTC 3 red carpet event or the POTC marathon?
