I'm pleased to say that we will be able to send some JDR members to the P3 Trailer Sneak event and showing of POTC-TCOTBP at the El Capitan in LA on Sunday, March 18. The LA event is the only one we have access to.

Please be aware that even with a "pass" or your name on a list, it does not guarantee you a seat. The theater is overbooked to ensure a full house, so we strongly suggest an early arrival time as seating is first come, first serve. I can't stress this strongly enough. People will be turned away due to lack of seats.


Check in begins at 3:30pm with the event scheduled to start at 4:30pm and be over at approximately 9:00pm.

This is a "plus 1" event, meaning you can bring 1 (one) guest.

Let me be clear about this. The passes that we are giving away are to the LA Fan event that Disney is holding, but we are not Disney.

In Disney's contest rules the said that they would email the winners on Friday.

JDR was given some passes to the LA event only.

OK, throw me in with getting an email that I also "won" tickets through disney.com! If anyone is going solo, PM me so we can meet up if you like. Or, any of the JDR group that is getting tickets, would love to meet up with you. I'm also concerned about getting there to get a good seat. Drink up me hearties YOHO!

It sounds to me that a lot of people are getting the winning emails, but this is an old theater and there are a lot more than 250 seats at the El Cap...roughly speaking probably around 1000 seats. The Disney announcement said they were offering 250 winning tickets in LA and each ticket is a "plus one" which means approximately 500. And there are also special "invited" guests of Disney's as well who will be attending. This is a large venue, but I encourage all to arrive early and be prepared to wait patiently.

I want to remind everyone that they are giving "preferred seating" to those in costume. AND read your fine print, it's first come, first serve. Read every word on the letter. My guess is that some people may not get in, so do your best to abide by the "rules" and get there early and I'd find some sort of pirate costume to increase your chances. That means that while your name IS on a list for 2 seats they are NOT going to hold those seats for you. Trust me when I tell you this. Please. I've spoken to the Disney people earlier today for clarification. They are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Period. You can't arrive late and expect a seat to be held.

I will be there in plenty of time for sure. I will be dressed semi Pirate. I am sure we will get in. The letter from Disney as you can see will give everyone a chance to get in as long as they are early enough and patient. I can't wait!

Oh yes, I wouldn't get there late, believe me! I'm planning on going earlier in the day so hoping that I can meet up with JDR folks, hopefully we'll start PMing each other. Karen, did you get any indication from Disney on the numbers they're expecting? I guess what I'm asking is is this strictly an "invitation only" event, or will be people also be lining up that didn't get emails just hoping to get in?

Again, I must remind you that NO ONE IS SURE anyone will get in. You have your pass, you will be dressed in costume. This is a large venue and there's a good chance that with early arrival you will, but please remember nothing is a "sure" thing.

This type of event will be overbooked to ensure a full house. Not only are there these emails, but there are industry invitations that will have gone out and most likely "media" giveaways, but to the very best of my knowlege this is not an event that is "open to the public". So again, wear a costume, get there early, be patient and have fun!! woohoo HOPEFULLY you will get in!! This is going to be such a fun event!! :captainjack
