Which special award? I missed seeing it. :(
shadowdog - February 26, 2007 04:35 AM (GMT)
They showed a quick shot of Sleepy Hollow before the Jean Hersholt Award which went to Sherry Lansing. Not sure why....I checked IMDB and it is not listed among her credits

I must have blinked at the wrong time. Someone on the Zone spotted Gilbert Grape during the in memorium tribute to Sven Nyquist. :snoopy

Recorded the program and I also just saw those little snippets---------guess they just can't get away from getting Johnny on an Oscar show!
Did anyone watch the Road to Oscar that was on 1/2 hour before the awards on ABC? They did the cutest, funniest opening to that program with the penguins from Happy Feet. Anyway, in this intro. they included all the Oscar nominees. One scene showed the VW bus from LMSunshine and Capt. Jack was one of the people pushing the bus----it was pretty cute!

Yes, I saw that, too...that was hysterical!
Thanks, shadowdog, for the tip on where to find the Sleepy Hollow clip. :) I spotted Gilbert Grape, too...very brief shot of Johnny and then Leo from that film.

There were more than one JD connection that had passed on last year. Bruno Kirby from Donnie Brasco and one more I can't recall at the moment.
Sorry I missed CJS pushing the VW bus. :(

That was so cool! :snoopy But I kept waiting for the "that's a wrap!" snippet at the end.

Yup, Johnny certainly was a part of the show even though he wasn't physically there. (And I'm sure he likes it that way! :P ) I loved all of the little snippets and would gasp loudly each time he was shown. When the show was over, I plopped Ed Wood into the DVD player...I just had to see it after watching those clips!
JohnnyFanatic - February 28, 2007 05:58 AM (GMT)
I loved seeing all of the various Johnny "snippets" they had featured throughout the ceremony...after a while it almost became like a game trying to spot them all and see where one would show up next! I mentioned to a friend how the Oscars just weren't the same without Johnny there...but since he was there in a way, it wasn't so bad!
