Johnny Depp Reads / Johnny Depp Reports exists as a place for fans to take part in the respectful discussion of Johnny Depp news, books, plays, films projects and materials relating to the works and interests Johnny Depp.

JDR is a place chocked full of Johnny history, including his life as a musician, actor, writer and producer. Basically anything that is of interest to Johnny or exists as a part of his life history is somehow included here in one form or another.

JDR began in 2004 as a small message board and simple website so that a few Johnny fans could discuss books that Johnny was interested in or books that some of his films were or are based on.

In a little over two years we had gone from 38 registered members to 568 members on 28th January, 2007, the day we closed up and moved from the old board where we were getting over half a million hits every month. We are rebuilding those numbers in our new home on this server. We have been blessed to be able to include news and information from industry insiders and have had the opportunity to include JDR members in several premieres, industry Q&As, red carpet spots and seats at award shows as well as offering passes to preview screenings of new films all over the country. Including reserved seats for the 2007 People's Choice Awards and access to the POTC AWE Ultimate Fan Event at the El Capitan Theater!

Because our history is book and reading based we read several books every year and then discuss them over the course of a few weeks. In the past we have been granted interview Q&A sessions with many authors of material that Johnny is or has been involved with, including, Larry Karaszewski ED WOOD screenwriter, JDR's Q&A with Joseph Gangemi Author of INAMORATA, A LONG WAY DOWN Author NICK HORNBY's Q&A with JDR, Pirates of the Caribbean From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies our interview with author Jason Surrell, THE LIBERTINE author Stephen Jeffreys answers our questions (Mr. Jeffreys is also the screenwriter for the film, The Libertine.) JDR interviewed The Ginger Man author JP Donleavy by phone for over two hours from his home in Ireland. We have recently had a Q&A from A PEOPLE'S ACT OF LOVE author James Meek and we have one more author interview scheduled at this time, Lord Whimsey of THE AFFECTED PROVINCIAL'S COMPANION, Volume One.

Edit April 02, 2007: Since this was posted here on our new boards, we were blessed to be able to speak with SHANTARAM author Gregory David Roberts from his home in India for almost two hours by phone. You will find that Q&A on this board as well. And we completed our Q&A with REX MUNDI author Arvid Nelson who took time from his busy schedule to join in with our discussions here on JDR.

We request that in as much as Johnny Depp Reads respects the wishes of Mr. Depp, that no unauthorized images of any kind of his children be posted or linked here. Please take a minute to read our JDR guidelines.

Let me add this as a method of clarification, JDR is a privately owned, membership based fan board. I own it and control it's availability for anyone, member or not, to read. You do not have to be a registered member to "lurk" or simply read what we are saying here. However, to post anything, you need to be a registered member. We do not, as of this date, have any *members only* areas because I don't want to exclude anyone. There is no cost to you the lurker, or you the member to read or post on JDR.

The only thing I ask is that we all abide by some community "guidelines" for this PG-13 forum. I very much appreciate that you all do abide by them, even though you may not always agree with them.
