Wow! This was the first time I ever read something that Johnny wrote. Is there anything this man can't do?!! The gunpowder story at HST's was priceless and I wonder if that cheerleader is kicking herself right now for not paying closer attention. Thank you so much for the links.

Doesn't he just have the best way with words?!
Thanks Arnelle!

He does indeed------love how his "voice" comes through in his writing. I've enjoyed all of the writings that had links posted above.

Thanks for the links, I only had time to read one of them but had to
Jump on soapbox ...
It is really sad comment on the the educational system of the, what late 70s, early 80s?, that Johnny was pushed to the point of dropping out of school. There is certainly a brilliance in him that should have been molded and embraced, not pushed violently aside because he was different!
Granted, as a fan, I am glad that his life's journey brought him to where he is now, but it still makes me angry to think about how miserable those years must have been for him.
Jumping off soapbox...
The man constantly amazes me - Johnny, if the acting thing doesn't work out (LOL!) it is nice to know you have plan B, C and D!

That's correct, but it's still happening.
I have a 17 yr. old daughter who has been struggling all the way though. She's hanging in by a slim thread and she should graduate and hopefully go on to at least a 2 yr college.
She's often bored to death and is better at artistic things than her instructors/teachers, who box her in.
The English Dept. head at her school says she writes with a "great voice", and so does our Johnny, eh?
Sometimes it's the school that fails the kid. :(
I have faith that all will turn out well with her. But I can guess at how much hair Betty Sue pulled out of her head in 1978.
